in this video at 1:23 there is a guy with an eye patch. I feel like his is or will be of some importance because he is pretty well detailed, in the front of the group and has the spot light of the video for a few seconds but who is he? does any one know or have any sort of idea?

Personally, I've always thought he was a decendant of our hero from GW1.

When ANet did this trailer, many things weren't yet set in stone. The "eye patch guy" was probably just supposed to be some sort of "leader of the united Tyrian forces"; eventually, over the course of development, they decided on who was going to be that leader. Enter Trahearne...

I would say he is the leader of the response team to Zhaitans rise. And therefore long since dead.

It is very possible that we might get to know more of him in the upcoming novel though, Sea of Sorrows, which takes place during the Rising of Orr.

If you go by the narration, he is probably one of the "ancestors" who "fought against the tide but Zhaitan's power was too great". He dead.

I think he's the neon guy from the destiny edge book. The one who knew eir and got them to fight the dragon champion with the undead boats.

Just looked it up Magnus the bloody hand is his name.

We have seen Magnus in game though. He does not look like that.

For some reason (eyepatch?) I thought of him as a descendant of Captain Langmar. Though it could be impossible, since she died fighting against the Mursaat, and no known relative has been presented...
