Naming and shaming is as far as I know not allowed in GW2 and most likely not allowed on this site either.

Because it is quite easy to claim that player x that you don't like did something, even if he didn't and that could hurt his ability to play the game quite badly.

I suggest make your own list and be sure not to group with them.

So, lets say I am pissed at you one day. I decide to run to these forums and shout about how you kicked me from a group after I had helped with the whole instance. That would most likely mean you would have a rather hard time getting another group in the future, even if what I did say was a lie.

I'm a man that needs to see proof in concrete evidence. And even then I'll still be questioning it. A list of names is nothing. And I'm also far less likely to remember their names as I'm partying with people.

Letting your friends know in-game is fine. But threads like this just open up the floodgates of "This guy was spamming Lion's Arch, I don't like him so I'm going to put his name on a shame list to make sure that the people that read it never play with him again!" It never works out that way. I'm never cross-checking names of party members with online lists anyway.

Yeah I've removed their names and just telling people I actually play with.

Won't be doing anymore fractals unless I'm the instance owner or a Guild only party.

Thats what i do, keep it in-house.

Also, use your friends list for people that you don't want to party with.

Couldn't the OP also just block them?  I haven't blocked anyone yet, so I don't know how that works.  Does it just stop them from whispering you or will it stop party joining?  I guess, either way it's a list of people not to play with.

thats a good question. I would assume it means they cant message you, and that you wont see their text in chat?

I highly doubt it would prevent them from joining a party with you, though. Maybe if there was a matching system, and a rating system that could be possible.

Though there are certainly problems with naming and shaming on a public forum, I do sympathise with you if you spent that much time with the group only for them to say at the end just before completion, "OH LOOK, our guildie is online!  Sorry random pug who put up with us for an hour+, we gotta kick you so we can invite our guildie friend and give them easy credit at your expense!  NO HARD FEELINGS LOL.  BYE."

I've had that happen once, and the suggestions of adding them to your block list and stuff, that doesn't really punish them in anyway.  It should be a reportable offense with anet  then reviewing whether the party kicked you for right or wrong reasons.

The block list is more like a muzzle instead of a restraining order.  It's not totally useless since you can add people you don't want to play with and it will tell you where they are and what their character name is... assuming they are online and the block isn't mutual.  They end up in your group on another character?  You can see that and boot them before you begin.  (Waiting until you're inside is a little childish since two wrongs don't make a right!)

LOL - booting someone before you begin is sooo, so much kinder than towards the end.

It IS a reportable Offense, and ANet is aware of it.  Report the player(s) and move on. =/

*squints*  Can't tell if you're laughing and quoting me because you agree or think booting in general is a dick move.  Doing it before the run starts doesn't waste the person's time.  That's why it's better.  It would bug me for a couple of seconds if I got the boot because the group would prefer a different class or something, but it's not like I can't easily find another.  No big deal!  Using me to get through a dungeon or fractal and then kicking me because a friend wants to come is much worse.
