A lot of the reason this last batch of folks are leaving is that they feel we would not get quality combat in T2.  At least now we'll have to work hard for victory, and that's not a problem for us.

T2 looks to provide arguably better combat for you guys anyway. WM is there in Kaineng. There's not a day they don't put up a fight. They look to be in need of a few good NA commanders, but I'd be proud to fight against the new Kaineng.

Welcome back Kurthos,

I was going to slam into that first post of yours to highlight some of the obvious inconsistencies but thats just petty of me as we can both see them anyway and its clear that you probably did not mean things quite in those terms, it was just written that way.

As others have said, its a game and each person and guild will make their own decision on how they want to play it to get the best enjoyment possible for themselves and their members.

I am sure I am not the only one who finds its slightly amusing that some of the same folks who were not too happy about JQ's new members a few weeks ago are now moving on mass to BG which I am sure will be making a splash into T1 very soon. The winners here seem to be Anet, they are not so stupid after all are they...

T1 is what it is, Shriens post was spot on for me. T1 has always been about coverage, you can only do so much if you don't have it compared to your competiton. Its clear that there is good strategy and tactics in all tiers and as Shiren so eloquently pointed out its arrogant of folks to think otherwise.

I actually hope BG beat JQ, a bit perverse I know, great close fights are where it is at. If BG does not beat JQ handsomely then I am not sure what will happen to the game as its clear we will lose a lot of players as there are no other servers left to jump to.  I am assuming of course that those folks would prefer not to come to JQ or SoR and join with those two in a orgy of self flagellation

Anyway, good luck to all WvW folks in the coming weeks, I hope we get back to good close 3 ways fights.

Well, I'm gonna give them full respect. All jokes aside, it's freakin' hard to leave your home server. I'm sure there will be some Black Lion tears, but I guess at the end of the day you gotta wish them luck.

SoS is content, more or less happy, I guess to be shifting out of t1 for the time being. But that doesn't mean saying goodbye to these guilds forever. If they can transfer now, what's wrong with transferring later -- it's the wiser decision in a way.

Scoping out what happens to tier one, what the WvW update does.

You could say these guilds will go out of practice and that may be right -- but what's so hard about running into a lagfest and pressing 1, amirite?

There is a lot of bravado in WvW and it'd be good to have a break from it. I've been too scared to do my fractals these past few weeks, but I'm easing back into them

I won't be part of the tier one battles for the time being, but I'm going to be rooting for the boys over in BG as that is where the majority of SoS's competitive spirit lives on! Go get 'em!

This is the exact response I'm hearing from a TON of people.  Apparently some players can now just relax and have fun.  They don't have to worry about being seen outside of WvW.  lol  .........that is so crazy.   Crazy freakin pathetic!

They should have been doing that all along instead of claiming to be the best server there ever was. I think Vizunah Square has something to say about that.

It is crazy, but that was what the atmosphere was like in SoS for the time being. If a commander was seen just hanging around in LA it'd be like "wtf you doing, go help out the realm".

That's the stage it got it, and guess what, that's why guilds did leave. Because they wanted people to stay in WvW and not enjoy the game (to put it bluntly).

yes exactly why I would like it, agreed close fights with alternate wins would be best. If it doesnt turn out like that then I wonder what the future holds for GW2 WvWvW given all the other distractions.

No the best thing would be for three servers to alternate wins or at least have a close match for the week. Two stacked servers will just help alternate SoR and KN from tier 1 and tier 2 where they will get blown out in tier 1 and then blow out tier 2. In my opinion thats not healthy to the WvW environment.

Oh I agree completely and have said that a 3 way tight match up is the best thing for all concerned many times on both forums. It seems that this is not going to be possible though with the current playerbase that appears to want to stack on just two servers.

I'm not sure why the majority of folks feel it's necessary to stay in T1 to get the best fights.  

Granted, I've never been in T1 myself, but back when I actually WvW'd, there were some pretty epic battles in the lower brackets.  

WvW isn't balanced. (especially at the top)  You're better off sinking with your server to whatever tier your player base can handle and enjoy WvW once you get there.  

Jumping over to the new fotm server for WvW is pointless really.  You stack the server and faceroll for a month or two til everyone is bored and quits.  Yee-haw.

What would happen if SOS and KN swap wins in T2? ie close matchups , would SOR be stuck in T1 due to sandwich between two juggernaut servers? SOS probably wouldnt want to return to T1.

SoR will do fine now that it's not facing JQ alone. SoR is probably just slightly less populated than BG at the moment, but that gap probably will widen as the next two weeks unfold. I don't think SoR really cares which Tier they are in as long as they get to fight.

SoR will be fine. Since moving here this week I've found them to not give a shit about their chances of winning, they're just there to fight. This is true of most of the GW2 community (Unlike in the first few months of GW2). I think most people who only play to win and not because they enjoy WvW have largely quit.

Whether or not SoR will switch with Kaineng in a few weeks or with SoS or another server remains to be seen, but we'll still have a good showing.
