it was expected.
also this is a GOOD change as it will bring the glass canon builds back where they belong...

Only for those players who have been relying on the life steal crutch, for those GC players who were too lazy to craft or buy them, everything is still peachy.

if you think about it this really changes nothing, in PvE most GC builds didn't use it or used something else like omnomberry bars for more money on speed runs
in WvW most GCs are burst based anyway, no warrior runs a GC build in WvW, they all run pain train CC with hammer and mace nowadays, or a semi tanky DPS build with a greatsword, the only true GC builds never utilized lifesteal.
the only people who got hurt, imo, are the people who tried to be jack of all trades. For example, I run (ran) a full berserker's Guardian with support traits (AH, shouts, 0/0/30/20/20), and the omnomberry ghosts let me get away with running such a squishy build with what is considered a "tank" trait method. Now I have much less survival and cannot survive as well in both zerg fighting and 1 vs 1s because of the missing heals from my multi hits such as whirling wrath. I was considering changing up either my armor or who I play WvW with, now I'm definitely going to do one or the other

I had a crit based flamethrower build. with 60% crit chance, 5 hits over 3 seconds with no cooldown, the heals I got from the food was crazy. Sad that the nerf hit but it was greatly needed...

This is definitely a great change that helps keep things balanced.

I did a little bit of testing with the omnomberry ghost. and i cant quite get it....
i am running a warrior with half defense/dps same with the traits. around 1800 tough, 18400 hp and 310 healing power etc....
The food is now on a 2 second cooldown(it seem so) and it heal me for 344.
Im not totally sure about the healing number.
i did a little bit of test with skelk mob and karka.
before the nerf i could heal myself for 8000 easily with the axe spin. now it dosnt give anything much
i did 2 dungeon run with it, and it dosnt look any good.
only other food that could help me on the heal is the mango pie, which give 88 hp every second, 176 for 2 seconds instead of 344.
but its a sure 88 all the time...
Anybody did more testing with the number on that food ?

2 second cooldown 325 flat heal. Still 60% chance on crit, so 60% of your crit chance will be your proc rate, Approximately half the time on a crit build. So every two critical hits every 2 seconds it procs once. You're not going to get it with axe spin or dagger storm like you could before the patch. I just gave mine to a guildie who wanted more precision for a fractal, and I don't miss them. There are better foods out there that give more precision with a more useful second function.
And i only really used it in dredge and volcanic fractals to stay alive with the massive spawns. I was just fine using omnomberry bars otherwise, and I still do.

It seems to me that alot of the food got equalized.
Blueberry pie at 40% chance is the same as om nom at 66%: both are going to activate once in 2 seconds (with cooldown)
A great change and I like it. My choice to use more toughness vit gear paid off

Yes its a nerf, but a much needed one.
Before I was able to roll a fully berserker geared flame thrower engineer with sigil of blood & Omnomberry ghost's and not really ever worry about dying because I was stealing 350-700 health with almost every crit.
(my damage for my flame thrower engineer is probably going to tank when i switch over to knights gear but it was borken having that much damage potential while having that much AOE healing + AOE regin.)
Granted duel axe warriors, thieves, flame thrower engineers etc... can still steal quite a bit of health consistently via using double sigil of blood & health still on crit food. But at least its not OP like it was before.
