What are the initial impressions? Good or Bad? Do they take longer or shorter amount of time?
Has anyone completed more than the five? If so, did you get any additional rewards?

- 40 kills in Ascalon
- 40 kills in Shiverpeak
- 20 Gatherings
- 5 sidekicked events
- 3 skillpoints
- 10 salvs
- 1 jumping puzzle
- 1 fractal
- 10 enemy mist invaders killed
As far as I know you just do 5 of those and that completes the daily.

Those can all be done in about one go-round.

If they've implemented monthly changes, they likely won't apply until the next month actually starts.

Ascalon and Shiverpeaks are probably there because of the Living Story (got each in like 10 seconds with all the upscaled events there)
But I will be honest, they had me at Jumping Puzzle Daily. I will take every excuse to do JPs xP
If you want to do them as fast as possible, Skill Points, JP, Salvage and Gathering are really fast if you know what you are doing and I guess you are pretty likely to do one of the others during the day, depending on what you like to do, so I'm happy with it so far.

I got mine done in about 15 mins. The jumping puzzle is easy, I was already in Queensdale so I did demongrub pits. Gatherer actually seemed like it required less? Either way it's not harder than before. That's 2/5. Shiverpeak Slayer was faster than kill variety, kill count, aquatic slayer or veteran slayer (assuming you didn't do FotM) and sidekicked events was the same as events. That left salvage, which can be done almost instantly every day.
Currently, my experience today, was that this is an improvement. That's if you go out of your way. A lot of players will naturally complete the fractal and WvW requirements without extra effort.

So it's the same.

Would love clarification on a couple of these.
5 sidekicked events
What the hell are sidekick events?
10 enemy mist invaders
Does this include WvW invader kills or is this a sPvP thing? I'm assuming it includes WvW player kills, but just want to make sure.
At first when I heard we'd be able to choose 5 dailies to complete ourselves, I thought great, this will cut down some time. Doesn't look like the case though with the choices they've given us.

Essentially that means doing 5 events, with the slight limitation that they can't be done in the true lvl 80 areas. This will not affect the folks who run events in areas where they are downscaled (which for me personally is most of the time, although the 'old' way of allowing me to get one or two at Orr where I've parked an alt was actually a good convenience).
The 3 skill points is interesting. Currently I'm mapping so it will come 'along the way', but for those who have done the lot, it does seem counterproductive to have to run the skill point challenge again. And my assumption is that for 'repeat' skill point challenges, the only ones that are doable are the ones that involve sparring. Those 'free' ones that involve just a channel or consuming a particular item are not repeatable AFAIK. Leveling up three times is another option, though I hardly ever gain 3 levels in a night of play after work.
As for some of the rest...time to start parking some alts in a nearby area!
I'd be interested to know also whether 'enemy mist invaders' are the ones in WvW or PvP.

I really don't like the idea of area specific achievements. That's too restrictive, though I imagine this will change every day.

Complete skill challenges give no skill points.
Took me less than an hour to do the daily but to be fair I did 2 skill challenges and the second leveled me up for my third skill point.

Nope. but skills gained by "leveling" past 80 do count. its skill points, not challenges.
Edit: my friend did the daily in 10 minutes: 3 skill points. 40 ascalonian kills. 1 jp (broken wall blitz). gatherings and salvage.

I didn't mind the old daily always finished it in about 30mins, this one takes a little longer but it's overall more fun and that's what matters in the end.

I really had no issue with the old daily options (or lack of), my beef was purely with the monthly, and it's forced 5-man content
Do we even know if they intend to change it up for the next monthly or is that just people guessing?
