What are things YOU like about the game?
Let me start first. I like the ability to pick what I want to play, when I want to play it. If I do not like something about my current in-game situation or feel that it is becoming a grind, I just go do something else.

I like the combat a lot. I like a lot of things about this game.

I love the combat, best combat in an MMO I have ever experienced. I tried Tera, and that game doesn't stand a chance with this when it comes to everything, especially combat.
I love dynamic events questing, don't get me started on how much I missed it when I tried Tera for barely even a day lol!
I love the beautiful art style and graphics!
But most of all, I love how casual the game is!!!! =)

I seriously have 0 friends that I talk too and only talk with my guild, who are not even on my friends list. So yeah, wish there would be a better system implementing the 'Y' key.
I also love the classes, and ability to play the class, how I see fit. I'm not reduced to only using 1 weapon which is only just a stat item like most mmos, it actually has a set of different attacks and so forth.

Ascalon. So many amazing memories of GW1.
Charr. Norn. Asura. In that order. And only these three races.
Surprisingly, I quite enjoy the lore (I am normally a "follow the green pointer on the compass while killing everything around you mindlessly"-type guy): I am actually more excited about Sea of Sorrows than I am over the potential game expansion. (Just re-read the first two books and although they are really cheesy, they reminded me nicely of why I enjoy the GW series.) I just wish the story would play a bigger role in the game itself.
Basically, the things that were actually carried over from GW1. ^^

I have to 2nd the remark about the world. I love taking my time mapping. I have 100% map completion on 2 toons and I STILL find crap I haven't seen before. I love the teamwork as well, running dungeons/fractals/or just helping out guildies in this game can be a real thrill. Even better is the random teamups that happen naturally in the world. Nothing is better than 3 randoms that take down a group event together. You wave, say thanks/grats and move along.

I like not having to pay monthly for access to a game I already bought.
I like the game mechanics and aesthetic of the game, I just plain like GW2 in general

- The combat is fast and fun. It lacks in some departments but in general it is pretty satisfying.
- The dynamic event system is a great base to build something greater within the world template.
- The game feels quite relaxing to play and can be enjoyed in small doses - though they tend to be rather unproductive
- The graphics are very good
- The classes are fun and unique (they lack a certain distinctiveness though as I pointed out in one of El Duderino's threads, mostly due to lack of class quests and class specific armor)
- I like the existence of jumping puzzles, and feel that the game encourages wandering very well
- I like the fact that I can play relaxed and solo and still get something as far as rewards are concerned
- I like the "soft grouping" feature for open world play
- I like the lack of a hard trinity
I look to GW2 for entertainment and a way to chill out, so I enjoy it. For more hardcore gaming fixes though, I go elsewhere, and with the exception of the upcoming Star Citizen it's never MMOs

To set it up right with skill trait and boon
I like to make it amazingly strong
With many a weapon, what could go wrong?
I like to see the world as it is
From great wide open to puzzle and quiz
I like it when I can just lean back in awe
At sceneries only an artist could draw
I like to fight with many a foe
With dodging and jumping and critical blow
I like to see many a player united
To fight off the horrible monsters we've sighted
I like to customize weapon and armor
To figure out if I'm a brawler or charmer
I like how applying each dye is a bliss
Red, blue and green, wait how much is abyss!?
But generally I just like to have fun
This game has intrigued me since I first begun
Though I'm a veteran of this series of lore
I still find myself screaming "I want even more!"

The exploring in this game is amazing. its not just the sights but also finding hidden areas, well hidden areas as well as hidden events and lore.
I love the idea of jumping puzzles and how some of them are really breathtaking even in artistic terms
I love the freedom the game allows. I can ignore gear and still be effective anywhere for example that allows me to get distracted by world shinies without any repercussions.
I also love the combat, its situational nature is great. My build can react to nearly any situation so its a matter of visualizing your situation and reacting to it.
I also like how Arenanet keep adding to the game month after month even without a monthly fee. Helps keep the world fresh which is great.

The music
The artistry
The combat and how each profession approaches it
The engineer and how they remade the mesmer from GW1 to GW2
Some personal story missions are really fun (looking at you drinking pirates under the table)
The lore
The skill based approach, although a simplified version if GW1, is still there and offers build diversity, most viable, all dependant on various situations.

Their core system is actually very good. The heart of the game is the use of boon/condition stacks vs. the use of direct damage. While I grant you this system will never truly be balanced just the idea is quite sound. Using very simple mechanics to create opportunity costs and countless permutations of the same situation is a clever bit of work.
A lot of little things make it. The fact players never compete for kills or nodes for example is a small thing but a very smart one. The fact everyone is a rezzer actually adds a new element of depth to things that people don't think about.
A lot of things were at least good ideas and add something to the game even if the execution sucks. The alignment / personality system for example affects nothing but it was a novel attempt.
The main thing is that even with recent debacles the emphasis is still not on a traditional treadmill style grind. There really is no point to having 163 gear tiers. The leveling is reasonable and the game mitigates the consequences of not leveling up in all important contexts at least to a point.
There are other features too but I think they were probably all mentioned already. Indeed part of why I gripe at this game sometimes is that it is just that tiny push away from true greatness. I will be honest it is not what I expected nor is it what was promised but it is mostly good anyway. This is the first game of its type in some years I am satisfied with.

Easy to play, hard to master.
Because GW2 has so nice places, it is pretty shame there is not larger goals and events for most areas. People really should spend more time in those beautiful scenes. Not just once to get the 100% map. Anet, give us more reasons to travel!

I liked the open world, especially in comparison to my last MMO, TOR. Amazingly, even though TOR belly flopped when it came to endgame, by contrast GW2 didn't even climb the diving board.
I also liked the jumping puzzles. I guess that could be considered part of the open world, but by open world I'm largely referring to the atmosphere engendered via the open world (ie every TOR NPC was basically a statue, making its open world feel more like a museum than an actual world). GW2 merely solidifies it, platforming content, as something I would like to see in every MMO.
