Alright, This is my first post, so hello everyone.

A while ago i had to crazy idea to run a low level to arah. Started at lvl 2 and managed to get there at lvl 6. Yet not many people believed that or thought I had someone clearing the way for me. Sadly I deleted this character.

But since I had time this holiday, I wanted to try again. This time while recording it. Started with a charr warrior. I first killed some monsters to get the horn's swiftness skill and departed on my trip at level 2.

While the total run took a long time, I took some breaks from time to time which will be apparent throughout the video.
I also have no idea if I'm the first idiot to do this but anyway.

PICK HD if u like.

This run did show me that there really are nice and friendly people around that don't mind helping out. And that it is easy to become friends with total strangers by playing together for 1-2 hours.

I ran from hoelbrak to fort trinity on my own, without getting ressed. After that, orr, I did need someone that could at least ress me unless I wanted to wait for long times until someone would actually be nice enough to get me back up my feet :)

Now I do have a question towards the community.
  • What do you think about this run, achievement?
  • Would you try it yourself?
  • If you could do it with a group (the main runners should be lvl 2-10), how about then?
  • Any other thoughts? (be nice :P)
Copy those questions and answer them please.

P.S. do expect dmg like this:

I have no interest in doing it myself or with a group of people doing the same thing (already have every class at 80), but good for you.  Recently my guild group ran one of our party's guardian down to the Plinx WP, he was about level 20 or so, and we started from LA.  Was a good laugh for about a half hour or so.

I think it's really cool that you were able to do it, and then had the patience to do it again!  I think it's worth it just to see the 2 million damage hits.  XD

I don't have that kind of patience, so I wouldn't attempt it.  Might be an interesting guild-hosted event, though...

Hehe , the general idea is to see if there are enough people that like it and wouldn't mind trying.
Of course the main plan is to have a very big group of lvl 2-10 racing to arah. The sight of an underleveled army would be so great :P

The bigger the group the easier it becomes. Everyone takes a piece of the agro, although the top runner might take it all on him first.

Thanks to those who commented already

It doesn't seem like much of an achievement when you have someone there to rez you, or being rezzed at all by random passersby. You would eventually get there even if you died every two steps. It would certainly be impressive if you managed it solo, but in this case it was only a test of patience.

It was a great idea and would be a great guild activity.

Sadly it is impossible to get there without getting ressed. The last stairs, imagine how many dodge charges you'd need for that.
The thing is, I did always take the lead, and would only get ressed when I died. i took all agro possible unless I could join some event train :P
And remember. 1 hit and you die. No one can achieve getting there without getting ressed without having a whole group helping.
In a way a test of patience. But it is fun as random people might become good friends if you actually talk to them.

Epic fun, congratulations! WoW has Hogger; perhaps this gives GW2 a fun UP competition idea that's equal or better.

You could always tag along on the assault on arah. You'd have to wait until it was active but it would work fine.

Challenge accepted.

Just kidding. I lack the patience or desire to do this, but I admire your achievement.

Gratz.  Things like this is why I like GW2.  You can make your own adventures out of the enviroment provided.

I might give it a shot when I purchase my 9th character slot.

Congrats on this, I did a similar thing with my (at the time) level 15 mesmer a few weeks after GW2 first started just so that I could get into (and out of) Arah when the door was bugged (on my server, basically all the time except immediately after server reset). Thankfully they've fixed that one!

What's the benefit of having a low level over there? At least in GW1, running/buying a run to the end gave you access to max level vendors. Also, max stat non-elite armor had no level requirement.

Just for the fun of it.  You could argue that if one desired to craft their way to 80 and then do things in Orr/Arah, they're already there, but that's no different than crafting to 80 first and then running there.

True, it was just done for the fun of it and the thought of having a character with the lowest lvl possible in that location.

As long as you had fun that's all that matters.  It's time and effort you invested and it is now your character at Arah.

I tried running to Orr.  Although I was like 36-38 at the time.  And didn't even really know what Orr WAS other than the end game area.  I only made it as far as Brassburn Torch.  And for the longest time I was stuck at Lone Post, through several Risen attack events (thank goodness for tons of people being there).  After that, I had no idea what the safest path was, or even where I was going.  But I only died a couple of times, and I believe it was all waypoint rezzes......at Lone Post.  I did get the JP there.  And while I was disappointed not to get the the final zone.......technically I DID make it to Orr, which was my goal.

Reminds me of the time I got all the flight paths in Eastern Kingdoms in WoW.  Also in the 30s, BEFORE they moved mounts back from level 40.  I did have a little assist in the Eastern Plaguelands though.

Nice to know others are entertained by pointless diversions like I am. :D
