What are you currently spending your Karma on?

I'm approaching level 80 and I haven't spent a single point of Karma.  Are the specific items I would be spending Karma on and items to avoid spending Karma for?

I've saved over 800k karma over a period of 2 months. Have only spent a few here and there.

Just save em, it's useless to spend them on anything else. Save them for a legendary.

Karma is pretty useless. U can save it for armours if u like skins http://wiki.guildwar...ki/Temple_armor or just keep it for legendary. U can also buy orrian jewelery boxes which can contain cores and lodestones.

I've recently bought the shards and made two gifts of mastery and two lots of clovers.... which was about 2.4m or something (wasn't that lucky with clovers). I now have 1.5m left, and earning 150k a day from dungeons with no clue how to spend it. So I'm just saving it for err another legendary? :s or maybe if they bring some new stuff out.

Question, feedback or issue? Pm me!

currently, Orrian Boxes, as I have nothing better to spend it on, and it gives a nice exchange for a currency you can actually do something with. Buy them while you have a karma boost of 75% or more (95% is the max I belive), and you can recycle the karma you get out for a while, whilst still getting more stuff.

Orrian jewelry boxes, whenever spending karma counts towards getting one of the dailies. Previously I spent some on cultural weapons and a good load of it on Obsidian Shards.

I usually wait until I have a lot and then buy Orrian jewelry boxes, it's a nice way to turn it into gold, but you don't really get that much. If you wan the mini, it's nice, but once you have it, there's no point of trying to get another one.

At the moment, I'm spending it on drinks for the thirst slayer achievement, though, I'm already on 69k drinks.

I tend to use karma for skins to cover up the butt ugly Pearl weapons and crafted armor.

Orrisn trinkets.

If an Orrian armor has a stat block I need I buy those.  I am going to get my Guardian a set of it because I like the skin on him.

I try to buy practical over aesthetic items but there are only so many practical items you can get.

Don't forget the 50% Karma buff from communal bonfires, unless that doesn't stack with something?

edit: just read it doesn't stack with Karma Boosters. sadface.

Wow, so no one is spending it on lvl 80 Orr merchant armor or weapons.  I guess the crafted armor at 80 is much better then?

Nothing yet on my Warrior (~412k, saving up for 250 Obsidian Shards - stupid legendary) and Orrian Jewelry Boxes on my Ele.  I'd be using my Ele for shards for clover conversion, but I should easily hit 77 clovers by the time the super adventure box is closed, what with 12 shards a day just from running the first world with all my characters.

Once my War has enough to grab 250 shards from the Temple of Balth, I'll burn any karma she gets while farming for T6 mats on Orrian Jewelry Boxes as well.    Love those little suckers - I've usually gotten stuff I can actually use (T6 materials, woo!) and often get pricey lodestones to sell.

It's not better, per say; rather, certain stat combinations aren't available on the karma armor.

Plus, if you've been even remotely lucky with loot/salvaging and area completions while working towards level 80, you can pretty much have the money or materials to equip yourself with player-crafted exotics when you hit 80.  No additional farming for karma needed.   Instant gratification is a nice thing.

Don't forget that you need an additional ~231 shards for clovers. =O I'm doing the same, saving up enough to do clovers first in the event that the clover recipe returns shards a few times. After that I'll go for the 250 shards. Beyond that, the trinkets from the karma vendors could be great. My guardian would love to have some cavalier's exotic trinkets!

your mom

oh wait.  I should be constructive and stuff.  um.... I spent mine on some of my lvl 80 exotic armor from the Arah vendor in Cursed Shore.  Half of my pieces were bought with that karma, and the other half  of my set was player-made crafted exotic Carrion gear.

Then I spent some karma on the level 80 underwater breathing thing.  That's another vendor in I think Cursed Shore.

Then I spent tons of karma on obsidian shards for my legendary.

edit:  oh yeah... I was leveling up Cooking, and according to the guide I followed, it recommended recipes that involved ingredients that had to be bought from npc's for karma.  So I bought stuff like that with Karma.

If you rephrase your question you may have gotten differnet answers. I have a set of Karma armor on my level 80 Charr Guardian. I purchased the Temple of Lyssa set because of the look and rune set. I had to transmute my old crafted exotic set to get the stats I wanted. That was months ago.  Other than the Heavy Armor, none of the other sets look good to me.  No need to buy Karma armor for my other 7 alts.

Now that I am working on a Legendary, I am saving Karma for those components.  After I make the Gift of Mastery and Mystic Clovers (2nd set), I may spend the rest on Orr Boxes.  There is a small chance to get T6 items and Loadstones.  Any help in getting those are appreciated.

I have spent well over 2.5 million, and still have over 2 million Karma if you include all my jugs and other Karma items.

Karma is easy to get.  Spend it on what you want.  Lots more will come your way.

LS/SDAS(or whatever): I am not currently spending Karma on anything.

Pretty much Foraging Sickles, breathing masks, food, recipes, and eventually some random gear for looks. I'm considering the 'dark shoulders' for my Guardian.

I still stockpile the drops and jugs. There is no need to use them. I generate enough karma just running around on the field. The Orrian boxes border on being a waste of resources to me, and I already have a stack and a half of Obsidian Shards... <shrug>

Hex.

I've basically just been burning it all on jewelry boxes.  I geared some characters with trinkets and some armor, got some breathers, got enough shards for gift of mastery and clovers, and really have nothing else to spend it on, so I just burn it all on jewelry boxes every now and then and take my rewards.  Made 20g last weekend from it.

Exotic armor and accessories are the real reason for karma, unless you're going for a legendary.  Sadly, they don't have all the best stat choices on exotic armor, but it's still probably the easiest exotic armor to get in the game.

Jewelry boxes are the slot machines of karma dumps.  In other words, I wouldn't recommend them.

Well not necessarily. I did spend 126K karma on a pair of soldier's rings once. Buying rings with soldier's stats on the TP was going to cost me in excess of 10G at that time, so karma was obviously a better way to go.

A set of Temple armour (minus 1 piece, got tired of waiting for Crusader Benson to show his face), because I wasn't feeling like buying named armour or farming dungeons. Apart from that I hardly ever spend Karma.

You should have spent them while leveling.

Buy exp consumables, trinkets, breathers, spend them on the slightest upgrades, or even sidegrades if they look better.

The only karma worth saving are the transferable consumable based ones to gear up your alts.

Splurge the rest away.

Avoid spending karma on leveling items,

When you get to level cap there are 6 exotic armor pieces, 6 exotic trinkets and 1 masterwork BIS breathing mask waiting for you.

They cost a bit above 500 000 karma.

Also, you can buy recipes, crafting supplies and other small utility.

Ignore people who have been level capped for month - they are comming up with ways to waste karma when you have no other user for it, that advice will be relevant after few months.

Now that I've got 77 clovers and 250 obsidian shards, my next goal is to buy enough booze with karma for Thirst Slayer.

After that, I'll probably just let it build up until they add more things to do with karma.

I'm saving it. I do occasionally buy exotic armour or trinkets (I have seven level 80s) but for the most part I'm waiting for them to add more things to spend it on. Unlike tokens, karma is one of the primary resources in the game, future developments are going to have to use it, so having a stockpile of it across my toons shouldn't hurt. It makes it easy that ArenaNet has such terrible karma sinks in the game as it is (very limited exotic options, all the skins require transmutation stones and jewelery boxes were just a trick to drain karma from the economy).

I saved all my badges of honour and I didn't regret that, I suspect karma will be the same.

I would save it for exotic accessories but a relaxed combination of Fractals and laurel earning is gonna allow me to jump straight to the ascended gear. I've got a pretty good stash of obsidian shards and I plan on spending the rest of the month farming the absolute hell out of the super adventure box. It's great for obsidian shards and philosophers stones (I have the skins I want and it saves on karma and skill points).

So right now I just buy the orrian jewelry boxes. I could save for a future legendary but between Neverwinter and ESO I just won't be as dedicated. Lol
