So I've noticed that only two classes can wield hammers and maces, while the rest of the weapons are enjoyed by at least 3, sometimes as many as 5 or so.

If Anet were to extend the hammer and mace to other professions, what others would you like to see implemented?

Personally, I'm a big fan of Elementalists wielding hammers. Some slow, heavy hitting attacks across the 4 elements. I imagine fire making volcanic bursts a lot, lots of tremors/quakes in earth, and firing bolts of lightning like thor's hammer in Air. *shrug*

Where would you like to see them placed?

This is the same with rifles, longbows, and shortbows. That leaves quite a bit to be expanded, not just hammers and maces.

Be nice if they added more skins for hammers and mace's aswell as professions who use them, 90% of hammer skins or mace's are too small or look incredibly dull, boring or terrible.

I thought that fastweapon/mace (if I recall) was a fun combo on my WotLK era combat rogue.  I'd like to see something similar on my thief with some dazes and whatnot.

lol, if we had hammer-wielding Rangers it would be the return of bunny thumpers! Linnea would lead the charge.

Hammer engineer, add some BOOM and you've got yourself a perfect mix there.

Mace is a bit more difficult to assign to another class, really can't see it work on anything than heavy. I guess ranger could pull it off but it would seem rather lethargic compared to it's usual weaponry.

hammer and mace could be added to engineer I guess, but tool kit is already mace-ish to me and I don't see a use for the hammer.  What the engineer needs is an effective single target kit/weapon, not a melee aoe bludgeon machine.  Everything the engineer has right now is aoe, either through cleave, explosions, spread, bounce, pierce, cone, etc.  Every other class has an effective single target damaging weapon, engineer weapons all work for single targets but they are all aoe weapons.

In all honesty, I don't see any class that could use hammer/mace outside of the heavies.

Hammer for the engineer would be awesome, but I think the hammner would work on the necro aswell. Also you can give the guardian one of the bows to give them more ranged options.

Mace for engineer (not necessarily Hammer) would be phenomenal.  If they could migrate our Tool Kit stuff to a Mace swap out, it would make a Turret build that much better, as we could actually have more utility turrets out.
It's okay to enjoy crap if you're willing to admit it's crap.
Every patch is like ArenaNet walking out onto the stage of the International Don't Kitten Up Championship, and then proceeding to shiv itself in the stomach 30 times while screaming "IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!"

This, so much this! I'd love to have my bunny thumper in GW2, and I can definitely see engineers modifying their mace with some kind of electrical system to stun enemies.

This too. I think it'd be pretty cool if guardian could use a longbow. Make it filled with control abilities, a la warrior hammer, along with a symbol of some sort. Maybe stability?

I can't really picture any of the scholar professions wielding a big clunky hammer or mace though, except maaaybe a mesmer using a mace.

I would like to see:

Engineer with Hammer (demolition skills), mace (wrench?) similar to tool kit but more focused on supporting your turrets, maybe giving them buffs or upgrading them? (tf2 like)

hammer on the necromancer (also I think they should use GS and sword), I see some traits in the necro oriented to become a "dark knight" So I believe a hammer could fit there, also the mace if you recall Elder Scrolls's daedra (mace of molag bal?)

I see in no way a ranger using a hammer, but I believe they should use rifle and a pistol too.

Of course I agree with guardian using a bow, either will do, firing holy arrows and an anti-condition based set of skills.
Also I think they should use spear, on land.

I dont see a thief using a mace, but I believe they should use torch.

To the mesmer I think I would add the  hammer, but honestly, I'm fine if they don't add anything to them haha.

I would really like to see longbow on the elementalist, for a longer ranged set of combo fields, and elemental rains. I wont add the hammer to them, I think the conjured hammer is enough (not like the conjured bow, where I would like to see other elements in that style too). Edit: Just for the sake of it, I will elaborate more on this.

What I am missing from the elementalist is: More storms (both water and lightning), heat waves and ash/volcanic rain (fire), and Sand! I would really like to see more sand oriented skills.

I can see Necros wielding hammers, they're already really slow and tanky. The only problem with giving hammers to non-heavies is: what happens if they craft The Juggernaut? Do they get super shiny cloth armor?

When I think of a fantasy-themed thief the two archetypal weapons that come to mind are the dagger and the blackjack (i.e. club, i.e. mace).

tangential comment: the preferred combat weapon setup for combat rogues in wotlk was slow mainhand, fast offhand. this was because special attacks would deal direct weapon damage, which favored slower weapons, but poisons on a faster weapon applied more frequently. oh and combat potency procs. now in mop weapon speed is not only irrelevant but it is not actually a choice you are given liberty to make.

juggernaut looks best with shiny armor but i could see it looking cool no matter who wielded it.

Longbow for guardian is going to happen anyway. It's the only spirit weapon they cant actually wield.

i think they need to fix CC first. Warrior dual mace spec is really shoddy in pve. why give a class weapon set so many cc options and have it only work in spvp? defiance is terrible. no one needs cc on trash mobs and the bosses defiance mechanic renders cc a joke in a lot of cases.

I still think they should add some sort of whip to the game. It could work for rangers, mesmers, theives, and necros. I think it could be good for medium/short range quick aoe attacks. A lot of whirl finishers for sure.

But, back on topic. Idk how well maces could work as a theme to mesmers, but it could provide a sort of force mage feel will some knockdowns and stuns and crowd control options. Like the greatsword, but more crowd control focus. I also think ele's should get a sword or greatsword as they have that length to them that would make channeling spells through them feel goooood.

I miss the days of melee being melee and ranged being ranged and casters being casters.

Considering the Juggernaut's "lore" is that it coats the wielder with quicksilver, anything would turn shiny when wielding it. Even cloth bits on heavy armor turn shiny.

As for the OP: thief Mace but they already have plenty of weapon combos. I can't imagine any other class than a Heavy using a hammer and being anywhere realistic. Greatsword already looks ridiculous on rangers, and to a lesser extent mesmers.
