there are a couple achievements in the game that really surprise (and annoy me) for not having titles attached to them. the first one is completing all jump puzzles. not only would it be nice to have a title for taking the time to do them all, but i also think "Jumpman" would be an awesome title as a tribute to the original Mario character. although, it would be gender-biased towards males, but i still love the idea behind it. lol.

i also wish there was a title (or at least an achievement, wtf?) for collecting every dye in the game, especially since it can take a while to do if you don't hoard gold. "Taste the Rainbow" would be an awesome title for it imo (assuming there were no copyright problems with it), or even something simple like "Colorful." still, though, i wish it had something.

are there any others you wish were in the game?

I'm surprised by the lack of title for drinks and food, considering they had titles in GW1.
I can't really think of very many achievements that I'd say need titles. Most of mine come from Hall of Monuments.

i was personally disappointed that there was no jumping title. my friend and i have the best time staying up all hours of the night and when we found out there was no title we just kind of had a silent moment and said "really?"

also, side note: i would be ok with "man" being a bit more gender neutral. id est i love it when high fantasy refers to things like kingdoms of men even though its not like they have only one gender in the whole kingdom like as if it was the vatican. (JUST KIDDING PRIEST JOKE HA HA)

- Lifetime Survivor (although they made it ridiculously easy to acquire through crafting)
- An Explorer achievement title would be nice (though they'd hardly be as prestigious as GW1 cartogropher achieves)
- Titles for Thirst Slayer and All You Can Eat
- Jumping puzzle completion achievement + title

And it would be cool if The Emperor would adjust to your character's gender. I want to be The Empress if I ever manage to get that achievement.

i wish there were more titles period.

honestly thats something i felt SWTOR did right, you got a title for things you did in the game.  GW2 seems like the only titles worth getting are from PVP and HoM.

what if you never played GW1?

what if you dont PVP?

ridiculous

I'm a little surprised there isn't a title for beating the personal story. I mean come on, the exact dialogue from the personal story is, and I quote,
"For this service, I grant you an ancient honor: you shall carry the title "Champion of Orr" from this day forward."
Is the personal story easy to beat? Kind of, yeah. But so is ressing 1000 NPCs, or amassing 200 gold. All it takes is dedication.

For those of you complaining about a lack of explorer title, doesn't Been There, Done That kind of count for that already?

More titles need to be added and I speculate that more general ones will appear in the future.

There is an Explorer title for World Completion "Been There. Done That." and the star by the character name.

I personally think "Dive Master" would be fun for the dive locations.  Not hard, but if you seek them all out why not a title?

Also, I was thinking of "Dungeon Mentor" for a number of successful runs through dungeons with other players under 80 in the party. I think it might encourage some people to help lower level characters through some of the dungeons instead of all being 80s.  Of course, people could always switch at the end boss like they do for leveling, so it's not a perfect idea.

I would love an world completion title/achievement asswel. I know gw2 already has one, but I mean one you get for completing all the maps. Right now to get that achievement you need to do a little bit of pvp for it.

You don't have to do any PvP for it. Not one bit. Go out and run to the points that are cleared, avoid mobs/zergs, and take out-of-the-way routes to avoid gankers. Not one bit of PvP is required to get full map completion.

Until recently I was just wearing GWAMM, and proudly so.  That shouldn't make people mad if they can't have it either.  People have asked me how I got it and I get hate back when I give the answer.  It's ridiculous, its a title.....  Besides, if people like me didn't fawn over the first game the way we did, and sink a TON of hours into it, there wouldn't be a Gw2 right now.  We didn't get free uber gear or anything that gave us an advantage, we just got titles and skins.  Besides, if you feel like you need it, feel free to go back and get it, no one is stopping you.

Every event there is a new title added.  I'm currently sporting "Distinction in applied jumping" from the super advneture box and more will be added in the future with new content and expansions.  Gw1 started off with very few titles and added many many more as the game went on.  I'm all for more titles, I just don't feel en-titled... :P

I'd LOVE to see a title for kills vs a profession in pvp though.  I would never take off "squasher of thieves" or "wrecker of warriors"

[edit] I would totally be on board for jumping puzzle achievement and title as well.  A lot of people are asking for lifetime survivor, but I'm confused how that would work since you could get to 80 crafting easily.  Would it be like Gw1 where you need more xp than just getting to max level?

When I said pvp I meant being in an environment in wich players can kill me. My main point was that not everyone likes being in that environment, but they do like pve and general map completion. My other point is that it takes a different aproach from the rest of the map completion. That's the reason I would like to have an achievement for completing all the pve maps.

I would actually enjoy a survival title.. as strange as it may be that would actually get me to log in and finish it. So many ways to finish that title in GW1. I'd assume it would have to be purely from kills in GW2 because there are too easily accessed ways to get xp like crafting and farming events. 17kexp every few minutes, p'shaw ezmode.

Unless they just set the limit absurdly high which is probably what they would do. Idk what it is but I loved that title to death (literally, a few times... died near the end :3)

I'd like to see temporary titles implemented.
For example, there's an achievement for getting X amount of experience without dying. It would be cool if that gave you a title, but you lose that title upon death(exclude WvW and dungeons perhaps) and have to rebuild it up.
Same thing for map completion, a title for having explored everything, but when new points are introduced, you lose the title until you find them and get map completion again.
Wouldn't be for everything, but a few titles like this would be nice, something you have to upkeep or shows that you are current with the game.

I bet all my deaths since the first month past release have been in WvW, PVP, and dungones (if you count fractals)  What else actually kills you if you are lvl 80 and somewhat careful?  That route would be too easy, or people would just get as high as possible with crafting and then range farm mega events from a safe distance.  Perhaps you could get a survival title to not dying WHILE doing things like WvW and Dungeons.  That would make things more interesting.  Like after a while the only XP that counts towards the title is from higher level content.  That would probably be a coding nightmare for just the sake of a title though...

I have the utmost respect for those displaying the GWAMM title.  I don't have the title myself, but know how much work really went into getting it.

One way or another, it was just an example.
I just thought making it include WvW and dungeons would be a bad idea since it would affect how people are playing. I'd be annoyed if someone in my dungeon run was more focused on keeping themselves alive for the achievement then actually doing the dungeon. Dying is a fairly normal part of dungeons after all. As for WvW, I feel it would further discourage PVE players from joining if they had an achievement like this, which is the opposite of what Arena Net wants.
I viewed open world PVE to be the ideal place for this since it's note that difficult, but does require an active effort.

^ true, it was annoying in the early days of Gw1 when you would have group members hanging back and even leaving if things got rough. Maybe the ceiling for the current title should have just been higher, I maxed that achievement without realizing it at some point.

I also feel like there should be a title for every acheivement catagory.  In other words "Master Explorer"  "Master Slayer" ect...

I've got a few I'd like and feel should be added, I'll list the reasoning (though some have already been said in the thread)

Champion of Orr - Personal Story completion. You do actually get this title, it's given to you in the story-line, but you don't ACTUALLY get it.

Colourful/Dye Master - Obtaining all dyes, as stated earlier. This is actually kind of prestigious.

Fractal Stabilizer - Not sure what it should be for this. Maybe over 200 (or 500?) fractals completed or getting up to level 50 fractals, seeing as above 50, mechanically speaking is nigh on impossible and ArenaNet had no actual intention for people to hit 80, though maybe even 80 could be the achievement

Slayer of All - Complete all Slayer Achievements. This would be especially hard, considering that not many people have maxed the Giant Slayer achievement (mine's sitting on 3)

Jump Master - All jumping puzzles completed

Guild Loyalist - Earn over 10,000 influence for a single guild, can not be bought influence.

That's most of the ones I'd like to see, but the game could surely use a few more interesting titles.

All Slayer and Weapon Master achievements should have titles, but the weapon ones should only show if you are on a character that has that particular weapon equipped.

Full clear Dungeon without single death on all party members. Make it consider all dungeons, like Dungeon Master. This would be similar to the Undying achievement in Wow.
