I can't seem to log in to both GW2 forum and the game itself. The game gives me a 'connection failed' while the forum gives a forbbiden error. Anyone else has it? Is GW2 offline atm?

We will be conducting maintenance tonight, from 12:00 AM (Midnight, Pacific Time), Tuesday, April 16 until approximately 2:00 AM (Pacific Time) Tuesday, April 16.

During this maintenance, players will be unable to login to the game.

We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

I never remembered GW1 going down for maintenance like this, and before launch didn't they brag about how there server infrastructure was such that they could stream patches without kicking everyone. I must still be clouded by nostalgia.

Lol I was under the same impression, GW1 had a legendary track time of only going down 2 or 3 times in its entire life time I think but you still had to restart your client to get a new build. I don't ever remember being forced to restart my client, but to get that update you had to eventually. Usually I never noticed it because they would be downloaded the next time I started the game.

I think what they were bragging about was how WoW has to have server down time, around 6 hours plus for maintenance but they do it around 4 AM I think and end at around noon that day, pacific time and one day a week I think.

I expect this to solve the party formation bugs, the Behe spawn issue and the broken skill points.

Quite hard and silly to compare a 100% instanced game with a open world game though.
In GW1 it was very possible to shut down and update a few servers at a time, without having to shut the whole game down, since it was built in a entirely different way.
It was also completely impossible to get a new build installed on your client without restarting.

It seems Behe was fixed. (Haven't checked out the other two yet.) Do we know what else they worked on?
