*edit*  forgot to put in the title... "still haven't receive the free minis".. can't seem to edit title

Did you buy gems with real money? Are you patiently waiting for your mail with the free Dragon Bash minis that everyone else is getting, but haven’t gotten it yet? Guess what? …… You …. aren’t….. getting …. it!

http://s13.postimg.o...3p/Untitled.png

So, if you don’t know, people who purchased gems in the past get free minis. If you purchased gems with money and DIDN’T get the free minis by now, guess what… you’re not getting them. Even though people who never bought gems are getting the free minis.

Why aren’t some of us getting the free minis that everyone else is getting despite buying gems with real money in the past? Because you didn’t by them between August 28th 2012 and June 9th 2013. So, if you are like me and bought 2400 gems before August 28th during the Head Start time, you aren’t “loyal” enough. Apparently the $30 i spent on top of the $80 i spent for the deluxe edition isn’t being as loyal as buying the regular edition for $30 and then $10 worth of gems a month ago.

It’s unacceptable that “Head Start” gem purchases aren’t taken into account in the fact that people bought gems before June 9th to be eligible for a free promotion. Please make your voices heard on this official forum thread to make sure it is noticed and people are aware and unhappy about this:
https://forum-en.gui...is-NONE-for-you

Please, do not bother posting if you just want to point out that 500 gems is currently only worth 16.5g and thats what we are missing out on. Thats besides the point.

Really?  Do you truely believe that the reason you are not getting the free minis is because you are not loyal enough? How is this the first theory that comes to mind?  Do you watch Foxnews all the time?  Isn't it possible that they simply do not have the data for people that purchased gems in the head start period or the data is not as readily available as purchases after August 28?  I will be honest I have no idea why purchases before August 28th were excluded but I seriously doubt it was due to someone thinking that everyone that purchased before August 28th was not loyal enough.  If I had to guess I would go with a techical reason before a vendetta type of conspiracy.

Because i opened a Support ticket with Anet and they specifically said that because i purchased gems before Aughst 28th, i am not eligible for the promotion. They have it on record that i bought them. I told them that was unacceptable and to escalate the issue to a manager and he said the same thing. I would cut/paste the ticket conversation, but i don't know if that will get me banned or not.

But feel free to open your own support ticket if anyone reading this has the same issue. i'm sure you will get the same response.

I do not doubt your statement that you were excluded from receiving the free minis because you purchased the gems before August 28th.  Where I had trouble with your allegations was the idea that someone wanted to exclude you simply because they thought you were less loyal than a customer that purchased gems a month ago.  Your post implied there was some sinister motive for punishing a subset of customers.  I simply suggested there is probably a more logical and less devious reason for why people that purchased gems before August 28th were not eligible.  I guessed it could be the result of a technical short coming.  The beta period was probably crazy for them.  People were probably dealing with issues from every direction.  Maybe the purchase data collected before August 28th was incomplete or missing fields or information they started storing after the 28th.  Maybe the data was stored in another DB table with incompatible data or could not be linked to the utility they used to generate the mailing list with the minis. Another possibility is oversight or human error.  Maybe whoever was setting up the criteria or date range for people to received the minis simply forgot about the beta period. They just picked the live date to the present overlooking the beta period. I am really just guessing but I think my guesses that they excluded you due to technical reason or error is probably a better guess than them taking pleasure in upsetting some of their customers on purpose.

no. I haven't purchased more gems since then. There aren't too many things i want out of the gems store and when there is, like the pick and sickle, i exchange gold to gems. If there was something i really had to have and didn't have enough gold to buy gems, i would have purchased gems. But i won't now, ever. Not unless they reverse this. It's the principle of the matter, not how much they are worth.

I accept that there very well could be a technical issue with tracking purchases before August 28th. Thats why i opened a support ticket. They told me that they do have on record that i have purchased gems. But despite that, they won't send me the minis.

If in fact there is a technical issue that keeps the automated system from sending me the minis, is tell me that. They should of said in the ticket, "We had problems with out records. While we do have records that confirm you purchased gems, the automated system was able to see that." From there, they can manually either send me the minis or credit my account 500 gems to buy the minis. Something like that, not "ya, you bought gems, but you bought them too soon.. oh well, you don't get them. problem solved". Thats not a direct quote, but close enough.

And as far an making people angry about this, well, it seems thats the only time Anet fixes things. History says so.

I know sarcasm doesn't come across well on the internet, but surely you read the sarcasm in his statement about loyalty.

I assume all this talk about loyalty stems from the language Anet is using for this promotion. Go complain to their marketing department.

And I would guess good old fashioned incompetence; whoever is in charge of it either wasn't employed by Anet during the head start period, or completely forgot about it.

A reasonable customer service agent would ignore his tone, and address his complaint. I suspect even Anet can manage that much.

This might seem like a stupid question since I just woke up and my brain isn't fully functional yet...

How could a pack of account bound minis make you rich?  The mini colossal you create with them is also account bound.

The problem is the people in customer support are likely not able to override the conditions set buy the promotion. I dont know who is responsible for it and am not aware of the internal workings of Anet, but I can understand a customer support employee sticking to the rulesas they are laid out for the promotions. Under those rules you arent eligible for the mini pack.

The technical limitations reason given above is a possible reason, but I tend to think it's human error. Whoever wrote up the rules for this promotion didnt remember that people could buy gems before the release date and you're one of the unfortunate victims of that oversight.

We can probably all agree that regardless of the reason, excluding the people that bought gems before release was not the right decision and they should if possible run the promotion again for "pre-release" purchases. You could try to escalate that request through support but with the way Anet seems to work you are more likely to get lucky with someone that can actually do something about it catching a post you make on reddit...

Wow, this is friggin hilarious.

"Buy gems guys!  If you show your loyalty with money, we MIGHT make it worth your while!  And all of you friggin' leeches, up yours!"

Loving that message.
It's okay to enjoy crap if you're willing to admit it's crap.
Every patch is like ArenaNet walking out onto the stage of the International Don't Kitten Up Championship, and then proceeding to shiv itself in the stomach 30 times while screaming "IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!"

I'm curious why anyone found it necessary to even purchase gems before August 28th.

Can't wait to look better than everyone else before everyone else looked like anything?

Nope, I bought gems so I could have all the character slots I wanted right away. (I wanted 1 for each profession + a spare) turns out it was a great idea, since, by accident, anet gave me double the amount I orderded due to a bug. So instead of 9 character slots, I now have 13! If the birthdays work like in GW1, I'm going to be happy :)

They know about the character slots thing. They said as a sign of good faith, they'd let them keep any bugged character slots. I bought mine at the same time and wasn't so lucky.
