yeah this has probably been asked a billion times before but i looked up some places to "farm" and so far very few of them have worked out for me. I dont particularly like farming. I cannot stand doing repetitive things and so i would like to be able to move around and go through different areas within an hour. i know dr kind of forces you to move around which is fine, but recently when i tried out a spot in frostgorge sound (near where jormag spawns) with trolls i stopped getting loot after about 10 min maybe less. This was probably my own fault because i went alone and i couldnt defeat the champ troll there so i wasnt able to get to all of the baddies. But afterwards i went to another spot next door where a bunch of grawl are stationed and the same thing happened. after 10 min i got nothing (and there were way more grawl than there were trolls) and the spot (which was posted not too long ago definitely after dr was implemented) was supposed to yield around 6g an hour and all i got was a few silver for my 10 min there and after that i wasnt getting anything. Now im not complaining about dr because i dont mind having to go to new places i just feel a little limited and ive never experienced dr before in a game so i was kind of shocked at first when i wasnt getting anything. If anyone can just give me some tips on where i should go that would be great. Also is gathering a viable option to get gold?

But......

90% of CoF runs require zerk warrior or mes. The dungeon doesn't require it, just "those" players that make that run. It's silly, but be prepared.

1) CoF runs are popular.

2) Invest in MF gear and farm for loot, T6 mats or lodestones.

3) Farm bonus chests for rares and sell ectos.

4) Play the TP.

5) Establish routes for farming raw mats.

I personally prefer 3 & 4. 3 requires an event timer to be effective. 4 requires some homework and risk-taking behavior. 5 most likely places you in Orr.

On Aurora Glade I rarely see folks asking for berserker farm teams: if I do P1, I normally do it with my guardian, necro, ranger and warrior and the only problem I have with creating a team is if there's not enough people there, rather than people demanding specific team compositions. (Since I do it for tokens, this means I normally do a run and then come back later so that I don't hit DR: which means my runs are spread throughout the day.) To date, I think I did enough runs to get 5 armour sets next to the more than 6 thousand tokens I have in my storage.
Of course, I spam map chat with LFGs rather than use GW2LFG.

EDIT:
Even with random, non-farm team we normally get 2 runs out of one Omnomberry Bar.

there are plenty of people advertising for regular runs that are still decent in earning gold, running dungeons in general is fast money once you've become used to the mechanics (run them with a guild for extra fun and gold earned since it's a more permanent group than PuGs, so you'll be able to run them faster over time)

Not that hard to get a CoF dungeon group without full zerker, also unnecessary to buy gold through gems. Try going here http://gw2lfg.com/ if you're having trouble getting a group. Alternatively, finding a decent sized guild is a good idea as well, if you're constantly seeing people with the same guild tag running around try asking one if you can join, it's probably a big guild.
Most normal activities in the game are fairly lucrative, and gold doesn't have that big a use beyond buying gems with it or rare mats to make skins.
Sell rares(yellow quality) you get on the Trading post, they generally sell for between 14 and 24 silvers. An easy and fairly quick way to get them are world bosses, here's a website with the timers for when they are spawned http://guildwarstemp...om/dragontimer/ there's also an overlay you can get here http://us.gw2stuff.com/ that does the same, just pick your server.
Level 10+ Fractals of the Mists gives a good amount of gold when you factor in the rares that drop, and you can also get ascended rings which is of course nice. If you don't care for the back piece, you can also spend you extra Fractal Relics(tokens) on 20slot bags. Once again, not that hard to get a group for level 1-10 fractals.
If you have a good/big enough guild, try to do guild missions once a week with them if you can, you get 50s and 2 rares per mission, plus commendations(tokens) to buy ascended gear/random other stuff with.
The new achievement system they added last patch also gives you a gold or so every 500 achievement points, which is a nice boost, though of course isn't something you can farm.
Sell masterwork (green quality) drops that you get to vendors. My personal rule of thumb is to vendor items (weapons and armor) that are worth more then 95 copper, and salvage them with a 'crude salvaging kit' if they are worth less then that. I've heard of people using the mystic forge or trying to use better salvage kits to get sigils/runes out of the items in order to sell them as well, but I personally don't bother with that and find my way to be a more reliable source of gold.
More or less doing what ever I feel like at the time (which may include random dungeons, WvW, randoms events while my friend levels), while following the above, I end up with enough tokens to buy what ever gear I want, and enough gold to convert to gems to buy new stuff if I want it (though it's pretty rare that I do). I play maybe 10 to 20 hours a week, though this can vary wildly.

Also try the sanctum race, it's not much gold compared to cof but I imagine more fun than doing cof runs all the time. And the catchers skins are some gold on the TP.

You CAN run CoF back to back much later, but I prefer gathering materials on various maps as the best option.  It's a lot more open and fun since you can still see events pop up "while gathering" and participate.  Plus running CoF over and over can lead to having annoying pugs in your group, unless you have guildies willing to "camp out" with you at CoF.  Selling your mats, "especially higher value mats" on the trading post gives more than average return, especially for a "beginner" as you stated who is not leveled enough to run CoF.

Make a warrior, do chains of dynamic events and personal story with 15% exp food and boosts, or crafting to get to lvl 80 fast, go full berserker, exotic . ascended.

Farm cof p1 until you fall asleep of boredom.

Do it again the next day, and the next day....and the next day...

You could also farm ori ore, omnomberries and mithril on multiple characters for something different.

Farming all the world events here at lvl 80....http://us.gw2stuff.c...ts/piken-square all of those events usually give atleast 1-2 rares sometimes more. Make alot of money through ecto's. Can get exotics sometimes too.

Achievements now give you quite a bit of gold through rewards and bonuses to your account.

Just doing each of those everyday would easily make you 10+ gold per day. Farming cof p1 is probably the most lucrative.

IF you like trading you could just play trading post wars 2 which is how alot of players get rich but you need a chunk of money first really to build up and personally I don't like doing it because of the terrible taxing and fee's on sell orders but nothing on buy orders system that gw2 has..

Only if they are like lvl 68 or higher and check the prices, if the rare is worth 30-35-40+ silver I usually just sell it. If less than 30-35-40+ silver I usually salvage it. This also depends on how much ecto's are worth at the time.

Black lion salvage kits have the best ecto salvage drop rates but I would just use mystic salvage kits 250 uses, usually get good return on them since now mystic stones are easy to get. http://wiki.guildwar...tic_Salvage_Kit

Or you could just whip out your credit card and buy gold off the gem store through gems like a lot of players do.

If you're a 'gamblin' man', it's the clear-cut way to go. Otherwise, selling the rares you get outright is a safe profit.

While I've made some decent cash salvaging ectos myself, I still wonder how much I'd have made had I sold all the rares I came across instead.

Eon Lilu has some pretty solid guide lines on salvaging for ectos. Personally, I can't be bothered with that anymore and it frustrates me when no ectos drops from the salvage, so I usually just sell rares on the TP. I had similar thoughts/experiences to 'Bryant Again', which is why I feel this way.
I could be mistaken on this, but I think the average return on selling ectos from salvaging is generally around the same price as the average cost of rares on the TP. And since ectos are 19~silver atm, you're probable best off selling the rares if they are worth 20+silver(or somewhere around there, maybe a little higher).
Someone did a breakdown of this some time ago, I can't quiet remember the results but I think it was something along those lines. It also makes sense logically that the source of the ectos and the ectos themselves would equal out in price on the market.

Buy it or COF p1

Or spend an inordinate amount of time playing the TP.

It is just like a real job - but if you have one I say buy it they even give you nice free gifts to hide the pain of RNG loot drops.
