Safe to say this game is ready to have a fork stuck in it?

I'd guess, more likely, is that GW1 players have pretty much lost faith in the game, and GW1 players are the ones more likely to be using the guru.

I wouldn't say the game is ready to have a fork stuck in it.

While it's true that this site isn't very active (and when it is, it's usually a congregation of GW2-bashers), the game is still well and alive. I myself lost faith in the game some months ago and have pretty much quit, but on the occasions that I do log in for a brief moment, the game is lively and populous.

The GW1 crowd that made GW2 possible in the first place might be largely dead and gone, but the GW2 crowd isn't.

As one of the GW1 Veterans that has crossed over, and is still actively playing, I can gladly say that GW2 is still indeed alive and kicking. I can't say whether or not a lot of people still playing ever graced the shores of GW1, but alive and kicking it is, none-the-less.

I would guess it has more to do with the fact that this site has more or less become a circle-jerk of GW2 bashing and thus most people that actually play and like the game don't bother coming here anymore.

The official forums are still very much active and so is the game itself.

The game isn't dead.

I rarely post on here anymore because every thread seems to be nothing except the same handful of people bashing the game.  It got old after a while.  I'm probably not the only person that feels this way and that may be why the front page seems a bit stale.

What does "ready to have a fork stuck in it" supposed to mean?

Does it mean dead because when there's a piece of toast stuck inside a toaster your supposed to use a fork to get it out but you shouldn't because you'll die?

That has to be the most creative guess ever.

Stick a fork in the roast because it's done. The goose is cooked. So on, so forth.

More like stick a fork in the very tenderized horse meat.  ;)

I liked the toaster bit... then again, I'm feeling sadistic lately.

Why stick a fork though? I've never cooked goose before but I do know you don't stick a fork in it as the next step when it's ready. I'd imagine you cut it first into serve'able slices and serve it or add condiments on it like pepper.

Shouldn't the OP be something like "Safe to say this game is ready to be sliced and served up?" or "Safe to say this game is ready to have pepper poured on it?"

It's more of a zombie. Living, but dead. I lost count on the number of forks I've stabbed it with thus far. Maybe I should use spoons next.

The thing is dead to me. I just linger to watch people fight over it.

I would not use a fork. Maybe a 10 foot pole. Maybe.

No, but Guru is.

Slightly off:

Ultimately, this ended up being the reason why I almost never post here any more. See, I am very much in favour of an overly critical forum and I think Guru did this superbly. Hell, this is probably the only reason that Guru makes sense: other sites (reddit, official forums), do other approaches to discussing GW2 better and being critical helps Guru fill a niche. The problem is that Guru doesn't have anyone to bounce your ideas off. You have a bunch of folks that share your (my) opinions, but that doesn't make for the best of discussions: you end up "liking" these views, rather than discussing them. And the occasional poster that does oppose these views is better responded to by placing said poster on your ignore list than by looking at their moronic response: the responses just aren't intellectually stimulating.

We don't need another thread talking about the health of the game. We have enough of those already.

Little Mabel won't be able to be here it's our worst fear. She's busy working on her garden that she's growing up in space.

Why hello there forumite. Would you like me to review some moderation you did not agree with? Never fear! PM is here! Want to be a better poster? Check on this link! And this one!
