I play on Desolation. I'm in Europe, but tend to be online for approx 16~ hours a day, so I see everything. When you play around the clock (not everyday, I'm not mad) you see how the community works as a whole, and, well, it just doesn't at the moment.

The problem is how overflows work. Since Tequatl, Desolation has made a name for itself as Europe's go-to server for Tequatl kills. Every day/night we have a full Sparkfly. Full of guests. Full of non-Desolationians. This is a serious problem, not just for those who *don't* guest and sit in empty servers trying to kill Tequatl on their native server, but an even bigger problem for the natives of Desolation thrown into the overflow turmoil.

I like guesting. Guesting is great, in fact. I can play open-world content with friends too stubborn to join my server full-time. It's not perfect, since I still can't communicate with US servers, but it serves it's purpose. However, the ease of guesting means a lack of server pride and loyalty. If another server makes a name for itself as the go-to server for zerg champ farming Frostgorge and Cursed Shore, then the people will flock there. Other servers become barren while this focused server stacks up on overflows, leaving the natives to scratch their heads.

What I'm proposing, to fix the issue of server loyalty, is to bump natives to the top of the overflow queue if they happen to be in one. If a native friend is already in the main instance, their other native friend can be taxied in. This is fair, and by no means difficult to implement.

Just to counter the inevitable:
1. This will not kill off champ farming or zergs; there will most likely be more servers able to champ farm on a slightly smaller scale.

2. It is not unreasonable to make a guest wait longer than a native. Consider it a quarantine period.

I am also on Desolation, and I can relate to the problem. Since the changes to Teq, I've only been able to face him three times on Deso's server, while I tried maybe 30+ times at least.
It's a great solution for those who are not with enough people to succeed on a low population server, but It's rather frustrating that I can't kill him on my own server. The map is full almost the whole time, even trying an hour ahead isn't getting me in.

I didn't mind at first, but these days it's happening so often... I'm starting to wonder if the guesting option is going to be a problem in the future.

I'm not great with solutions. But I'm absolutely up for something to help the natives at least a little. 3 times since september is pathetic. Every single day I have guildies calling for a taxi which we can't give because we can't get in ourselves :c

Agreed that something to help the "natives" would be most appreciated.

Playing on Desolation myself, during regular weekdays the Tequal event is simply out of reach for me. I only play during evening times and I would have to dedicate pretty much all that time to camp the map right after a kill to make it for the next without ending up in overflow. During weekends, I can more easily do the described waiting (meantime I do something else entirely, as in, not play the game), but this kind of spawn camping leaves a sour aftertaste.

While I appreciate the general concept of guesting, I also feel that this hurts server "loyalty" and prevents certain servers to successfully complete such an event themselves, because everyone rather wanders off (guests) to more popular servers. A priority system like the OP suggests could help...

The thing is that you didn't make name for the server but GW2 players did, I think everyone should have the same chance for bosses/zerks thats why.
