So guys, I have decided after a few months to return to my necro, but my build wasn't good at all, so I decided to come here to see which build is the best for a necro who wants to run Dungeons and Fractals mainly. I don't know if the optimal would be a Powermancer, a Conditionmancer or a hybrid, so if you guys could help me with this it would be great.
Thanks

Welcome! Necros in dungeons and fractals are debated quite heavily. The general consensus is that, since Necros bring near-nothing to the table to help a party they should be left behind. While I agree that this assessment of the Necro's offerings for a party is accurate, I'm still a proponent of using them in dungeons/fractals if my group's okay with it.

At the moment, Power builds are the way to go. Conditions still have their issues, and I suppose if you're the ONLY ConD applier in the party you may be okay. But you'll see the most play time with Power builds.

That being said, there're two real options: 1) the GC D/Wh + Wells build, or 2) the A/ + DS build. They have comparable DPS, with the D/Wh build pulling ahead in spike situations. Both builds are inherently selfish, and as such, the other option is the build recommended in this thread. It provides rather good AoE Healing and good uptime (for the time being) on AoE Weakness which can certainly help in a group situation. And it does so without sacrificing too much DPS.

If any one of those tickles your fancy, I'd be happy to work through them specifically.

Hi Phenn, so, since I mainly PUG, I think the 1 or 2 build would work best (GC D/Wh + Wells or the A/ +DS). Now, I'm quite noob to the necro, so which one do you personally prefer or are they best on different situations?

I think that in a team-aspect, the dagger/well necromancer wins... Necromancers lack the team support sadly when going for DPS - they are extremely selfish especially when you get traits like "Gain power/fury when x"... The wells can offer AoE healing, blindness and a 1 sec stability (which is usefull against Lupi's dome or something)... It helps keeping your team more in the fight, so when you are in a sub-optimal party, you will not be forced to leave it since your health decreases that much...

I tested his build in numerous dungeons now and it simply worked... For fractals I need to do aditional testing since I mostly took a condition based necro to it (since Epidemic can cure bad pugs)... My inexperience costed me a lot the last time I tested it, so that's why I cannot say much...
