Anyone else miss the trinity?

It's been over 3-4 months since I took a break from GW2. Currently I'm debating on coming back, but I just don't think I have it in me. I have come to realize the main reason that I don't want to come back is because I feel insignificant in parties and events. In events or dungeons I feel as if every profession can do the same thing as me or possibly do it better, which is the model GW2 wants. This makes me feel unimportant in the greater scheme of things and doesn't motivate me to player. Another reason is that all of my friends left and I think map completion and other events really don't require a group. This leads to me playing by myself which just gets lonely and boring. I know some may say join a guild and that solves that, but I've been in a ton of guilds and it never seems to work out. I think the reason I was so hooked on GW1 was partly because of how the story line was structured, but the main reason was of the trinity. I loved seeing monks (and occasionally ritualistic) rain down heals on the party and watch health bars shoot up. I appreciate that GW2 tried to eliminate this to create an even base for all players and professions to have, but I just am no longer a fan. The main reason I miss the trinity is that I could choose to have an important really specific role in the party while knowing others had key roles as well. This made me feel like I made a difference when I played. For example, if I decided to roll my warrior I knew I would be doing a ton of dps and there were monks in the back lines making sure I didn't fall. I liked knowing each profession had restraints and couldn't be used for everything.
Basically what this all boils down to is that the only way I see myself coming back to GW2 is if they re-add the monk and add more structured group content. I know the trinity makes it difficult to find groups, but I enjoyed finding these groups or even playing the profession that was difficult to find. I know this is all personal preference, but I was wondering what everyone else thought as well.

I don't miss the trinity, but I do miss the diversity of gameplay that was the result of players being forced into roles.

But in alot of cases it felt so little that I just gave up and when to tanky/dps and now I'm playing full on damage dealer. Don't get me wrong there were situations that the heals were nice and really helped but those were so little so few it's not even worth investing in alot of healingpower while giving up alot more.
Anyhow, yes I miss it alot, I always play a healing class in any game I play, but I adapted, I moved on in Guild Wars 2 knowing the trinity will never be in this game.
Aside from that I always take some partyheal mechanic with me in a group, same goes for my necro where I got the trait that heals allies when I use deathshroud.

Idk, PvE in GW1 just ended up being cheesy. Sabsway, Ursanway and Godknowswhatelseway. Not that PvE in GW2 is much better.
Don't get me wrong; GW1 was a much better game, but I don't attribute it to monks or the trinity, I'm glad those things are gone.
GW2 is just... lackluster, in comparison to GW1. I put it down to the sheer diversity and options that GW1 had. By the time EoTN was released you had like, what, 500+ skills per profession? Not to mention PvE only skills and secondary profession skills.
You really had to think about your build and your runes/ insignias. GW1 allowed for innovations like the 55 Monk, 330 Rit, Echo Trappers, Touchers, Bunny Thumpers, Shock Axe, Shadow form sin (lool), Spirit Barrage... You'd be hard pressed to find similar builds/ ideas in any other MMO.
In GW2 we have a few sets per profession, most of which are more or less the same, no secondary professions, no potential for truly innovative/ creative thought/ theorycraft and no room for customization besides utility skills of which are, for the most part, boring/ useless anyway.
