The Live Team mostly consists of guys we had never heard about prior to the release of GW2 and it only exists because the cash shop makes money out of the peeps logging in to play the Living Story.
The Living Story even started has something that was mostly temporary and would have long vanished if/when any expansion arrived.
Do you think that the 1 or 2 guys that are balancing skills or the 2 guys that made the Dungeon Live Team (and at least 1 of them was laid off) will had something significant to any expansion content Anet might or might not be working on?http://www.guildwars...-robert-hrouda/Have you guys thought about maybe adding some kind of side-bonuses to dungeons before? Something similar to the extra things you could do in GW1 in Missions to get bonuses. It could be something very simple, like perform X amount of combos on bosses, or trying to survive the dungeon without dying once. This could be used to reward players for better gameplay, and you could give them things such as more tokens, or even specific rewards for that dungeon.
I would LOVE to add more content to dungeons. Random events, bonus events, awesome puzzles – you name it, I want more in it. There’s only so many hours in a day that two people can devote though, and right now we’re doing some pretty substantial work that our next content patch will have. When we get time though, you bet I want to add more.
2 guys made the Dungeon Live Team. There is some post somewhere in the guildwars2 forums where basically the same situation for the balance team is described.
Are we forgetting how long it took to fix bugs in GW1?
The Living Story exists to keep the cash flowing - "Look NCSoft we make $25-30M per quarter which is enough to cover our full year budget, so stop nagging us to release unfinished stuff and let us do what we want".
