[Drogon]

Hope some of you that don't have an avatar yet can use some of these. :)

I will update this when they release new concept art.

The borders are really easy actually. Not sure if you can do this with GIMP, but i'll explain what I did. :p

You just open a document like 500x500, use the lasso tool and draw a shape you'd like the avatar to have. When the shape is done use the paint bucket tool to fill it.

This is what I got:


Then make a 100x100 document (as that's usually the size that avatars can be), drag that form you made with the lasso tool into the new document and reshape it so it fits in the 100x100 document. After that you take the picture you want to make into an avatar and make a clipping mask, so you can move it around in the shape you made with the lasso tool.

Can pretty much make any border you want like that

The border is slightly different and these are transparent by default.

Aww, thanks. :p

The original ones were surposed to be transparant as well, but they got a white background even though they were saved as png. I figured out how to keep the transparant background now, so i think I will redo the original avatars as well some time this week. Will have to start from scratch though, because I didn't save a seperate .psd file for each avatar.

Sounds good, how do u make the avatars transparent while still keeping them in high quality?

Well, in order to stay transparant they have to stay within GW2Guru's file limit. I'm currently using the photoshop option 'Save for web and devices' to save it as a high quality PNG with a low file size.

I've started on the old avatars now. They won't be exactly the same though.

I was bored tonight, so I decided to make some new avatars. You can find them in the OP. Some of the gods avatars have a bit low quality, especially the grenth murals. :<

Think this is my new favorite :D
