A while back it was said, during the winter’s day event, that Arena Net would be taking an extended break to prepare the final bit of Living World Season One. And that this bit would consist of four updates to wrap up the story, followed by a big feature and balance patch. It is that patch I have been waiting for, because to me personally the Living World just plain sucked, and I didn’t give damn how it ended so long as it ended sooner rather than later. I wanted Arena Net to move on and get to actually trying to make the game better. I hoped that by now we would see some changes that would make this game worth my time again. Four updates. I could handle four updates after winter’s day.

The Origins of Madness

The Edge of the Mists

Escape From Lion’s Arch

Battle for Lion’s Arch

Battle for Lion’s Arch: Aftermath

I know I am going to get some flak for this, but frankly I don’t care. I am getting really freaking tied of these damned delays. And more tired of Arena Net flip-flopping between lazy and incompetent.

They were supposed to do it in March, or so Dulfy says, but alas March is here and Anet is not. :(

Hope you're not in too much of a hurry for the patch, in two weeks this time it's April 1st, which is most likely gonna mean another Super Adventure Box.

/sighs

Don't remind me. It has already been proven that Arena Net doesn't give a crap about its players, but now it is starting to seem that they actually hate us.

This "minor update patch" was announced back in the middle of February in order to end the current Living Story season.  If you didn't know about it yet, then have good faith the next patch is the content patch.

Speaking of... what's there to discuss in this topic?

There is zero reason why they couldn't have bundled the two together. Seriously this patch has nothing to it but a bit of dialog and a modified instance. How long did this take? A day, including voice acting? Was this really worth the two week wait relative to the other patches they have put out in the same time frame? They could have at least thrown in some balance patches, but nooooooo....they couldn't be bothered.

Dulfy doesn't work for ArenaNet. No date was ever given. All they said was that the feature patch was going to land after a short break following the closure of the Living Story season. Allie Murdock clarified last Friday that it will not be "months away," and will be before June.

But no exact date or month was ever given. Take from that whatever you will.

The two week timing is caused by the generic timing... they had to give people two weeks to get through the actual content before wrapping up the story element of it.

Maybe they wanted to give everyone the opportunity to play the content?

Indeed not. But Guild Wars 2 has two things making me believe its voice acting is an exception.

1; not a lot of it per-patch.

2; It isn't very good.

If you think GW2's voice-acting is subpar, you haven't played very many MMOs.

This patch is an epilogue to the living story of season 1. I don't care if it took one day or 2 weeks to make it but they're on bi-weekly schedule, they have been doing from a year ago.

Speaking of Voice Acting why wasn't the last patches event where you kill Scarlet voice acted?

Or maybe my game is broken. :(

It was the worst text conversation in my entire gaming history. I'm not even kidding. The inconsistency was that harsh. :qq:

The Scarlet fight. Or the attack on Lion's Arch in general. They spread each release out over two weeks so people have time to do the content. And now that people have had two weeks to do the Scarlet fight, we have the epilogue. It's par the course. What's the big deal?

It's common practice to not attach dates to everything. Didn't everyone want them to spend more time with their content releases so they're grander and fuller? Now they are spending that time, and you're upset about it the same.

Tough crowd!

Euhm, they started with a monthly update scheme.
They only switched to bi-weekly updates around the summer if I'm not mistaken.

Most of the voice actors are accomplish voice actors from other games or in cartoons. They aren't some random person from the street in Seattle, most of these talented voice actors/actors are from Hollywood and have been doing this for years and some are just getting they're start in games.

Was the LAST patch. Not THIS patch. They said FOUR patches after winter's day for the feature and balance patch. FOUR. Not FIVE. And all we got for patch five was a single dialog only instance and a lot of semi-interesting gameplay REMOVED. They could have at least tossed in a few balance changes like the ones they apparently finalized WEEKS AGO.
