I got 2 toons to max level shortly after release of the game and not played much since. Logged in the other day and I haven't a clue what there is to do (PvE wise). Not interested in pvp.

I've been playing neverwinter and there's always something going on but in GW there's no pointers as to what to do or where to go

Well man, here are the facts.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Guild Wars 2... That you couldn't do a year ago. Tough break. What else is left is to do dungeons, do events, craft armor and weapons, and look awesome with several degrees of sucess!

And pray to Arceus that Super Adventure Box comes back in April to deliver us all from boredom!

I'm a returner as well that too hit the max lvl shortly after release and left. Been trying to look for a guild to do dungeons with but the guild forums are like non-existent. I'll probably just WvW until early play starts this coming Sunday (not tomorrow) for TESO in the mean time xD.

Quite disappointed really. Was hoping to be able to do a lot of new things after being on a 2 year hiatus only to find out that the PvE side is pretty dead (during release all the maps were loaded with players).

Well as much as down leveling (for lower level maps) sounds interesting in practice once you hit max level you really don`t wanna go back to low level maps (you don`t have any reason to do so).And since GW2 has like only 2 real lvl 80 maps (of which one is Southson Cove) and 2 that are close but not entirely lvl 80 (Soundfrost Gorge & Malchors Leap) people are either there or in some city hub (was Lions Arch) waiting to go to fractal or some dungeon run.

It`s not like entirely you don`t have anything to do......it`s just PvE lacks crapload of new maps, zones, dungeons, etc. and Anet prioritized Living Story over really dedicating themselves to expanding the game.....so remains to be seen will they wake up and go to work.

You you just returned yesterday? Well, you can look at the poor Lions Arch that Scarlet blew up only a month ago.  It's a shame she did that. There's only 2 things I have to worry about now: The re-building of LA, and the fact that LS season 2 is Modromoth Rising (that's the title I would like to call it).

Another here who got to 80 then hasn't really played since..
I went back to GW but haven't played either for a while. I recently discovered however that someone I vaguely know plays, and that seems to have sparked my interest somewhat. Although it would cost more gold than I have to move to his guild's server to try WvW (used to like AB and imagine it's somewhat like that..?)
I logged in yesterday and spent most of my time trying to figure out what to do..
I thought I'd do the Lion's Arch quest (or live story or whatever it's called now) but couldn't work out which step to to. I then decided to work on clearing the quests in my mail box but whenever I went to any of the suggested locations, there was nothing there that related to why I'd gone..
In the end I reverted to my favourite thing, which is exploring. I did the Vizier's tower, and got a 'completed', but kept falling off before making it to the PoI, then I had to go..

I'm going to have another go later. I'm supposing that the quests in my message box have expired/I didn't do them in time, so I should just delete them..? The LA thing.. hmm.. wiki isn't as helpful as I'd like.. are there walkthroughs somewhere that I'm missing..?

Anyway, there's always exploring: nice views, good music, annoying critters..... hehe

You are so adorable that I just want to pinch you. You remind me of me before this cursed game turned me into a cynic. How cruel of a reality awaits you if you continue playing Guild Wars 2.

Everything you knew about ArenaNet? Well, throw those notions out the window, because the ArenaNet currently in charge is a mockery of the company that brought you Guild Wars 1. The Living Story? It is gone. Forever. You can't replay it, you can't relieve it and you can't impact it in any meaningful way. Any rewards tied to it? Gone. Missions, achievements, zones and instances? Gone aswell. The reason you can't find walkthroughs is because there isn't anything for the wiki to walkthrough...

Comparing WvW to AB is a disservice to the AB system. A cruel mockery. Anything resembling a strategy or team composition is thrown out for a Zergfest. Bigger groups win. If your server is filled is insomaniacs, you basically have won WvW.

There's nothing for you in this game other than Exploration and mindless Dungeon running. And when the next chapter of the Living Story comes along, either you're finished with it in the first week, or you won't finish it at all, or very with difficulty.

Have fun!

First of all, have U done Your Personal Story? Explore whole map? No? So U have first two things to do! : )
Next we have www, and achivments, rewards and titles. Crafting better waepons. Till U done this, there will be a new LS and new challange : )
So many things to do, so little time : (

Agree.  I've grown an resolution that GW2 dungeons are as much buggy crap as WAR's dungeons were.  But in the grim future, there is only WvW! (oh, and LS events, if they mimic the awesome that was the LA event where you had to free the citizens...oh the loot, the glorious loot from killing SO much stuff!)

Oh dear, how cynical depressing

Yep, done personal story. Nope, not explored whole map. I thought that the additional storyline stuff was more stuff that was supposed to be done, kinda like the GW 'Beyond' stuff...? I don't want to feel left behind, and if that's the way it's going to be for those of us who can't play as much, that's a shame.

Not really interested in titles or 'leet' stuff. Stuff that does the job that I like the look of is fine for me.. Took me forever to start bothering with titles in GW, and it was only because I did a few that I enjoy (Cartographer i.e. exploring :D ) that I ended up doing a good few..

Ahh well, exploring it is then. Thanks for your replies.

Off to find a razor blade now....... :P

There is no exploring in the game. Only checklist content you are forced into if you want a legendary, and forced out of it because it's neither fun nor rewarding if you do not.

The 'living story' is dead dead. It has literally been removed from the game in two weeks after the patches hit. You have zero opportunity to replay it, but that's some good news since there was nothing outside of achievement points farm to it. And a boring one at that.

Then turn back, there is nothing except for it in the game. No content outside of one WvW map (not even a good one at being a WvW map, more of a champ farm train fest) and a half-arsed dungeon path have been added to the game since release other than some 'titles and leet stuff'. Even those were mostly temporary..

Now now, you're forgetting the Twilight Arbor Aetherblade path that is still there!

Buuuu, bad game, bad game! :D

For the past year and half all GW2 got was a lot of fixes/improvements of the ingame features and very little content to play trough. If you haven't done all the dungeons, you should, there is also Fractals of the mists and it's probably the hardest PVE content. WvW got reward revamp and progression added to it, PVP got new maps and better match-ups and a lot of Living story that you can't replay, also mini-games.
The next update will bring a lot equipment rebalance and make the game more alt-friendly and some sort of unification of PVE and sPVP.

If you are expecting anything beside that, you are in for a disappointment.

I am playing since early-access. I always find what to do when i log in. Also WvWvW with a dedicated guild is a awesome.

I'm denying most the cynism, as the LS is episodic and not meant to linger.  There will be more LS events in the future, so the thing is, is that you have to stay playing the game to enjoy them or check the GW2 official site every week to keep caught up.  I love me some WvW and the new map is still interesting.  Its really how you play and view it.  I don't have a WvW guild, but i have a group of buddies and we roam all the time, if not hop on the zerg train.  Its good stuff.

But that TA Aetherblade path...wow...  Another glitchity-gliched dungeon by ANet.  That Clockwork whatever dude at the end is pretty much broken, as the illusions or whatever stop spawning or are never quite near your thief to zipline them in, so its pretty much a moot point.  Not to harp, but Arah isn't much better.  Alphazard or whatever his name just lolinstagibbs your entire party without warning and if it isn't that, that kills the fun, its the long walks through elite mob-saturated hallways that you get to die running through 8-10 times because theres no way your group can pull enough to handle without getting swamped.

WAR 2.0.  Took 4 months to figure it out, but i'm there.

Okay, you got me. There is also Fractals. And Southsun Cove. Not holding my breath for a return of Super Adventure Box and the Bazaar of the Four Winds, though.
