Hello everyone! About a month ago i made a video about how to make gold off of your extra skill points. This is not really a gold farming guide as it is not consistent. Take a look and find out how you can earn gold off of your extra skill points.

If you want to make even more gold with your skill points, I suggest converting tier 5 materials to tier 6 as it is significantly more profitable than upgrading siege (i.e., Vials of Blood). There is an element of unpredictability, and sometimes you get bad luck receiving only 5 or 6 Powerful Bloods, but over time you will make more gold than converting cores into lodestones or upgrading blueprints.

You can even do this to level your Magic Find. Buy Globs of Ectoplasm and use the Crystalline Dust you get in the conversions to make gold and level your Magic Find simultaneously. That's how I've been doing it. Nearly up to 200% account-wide MF right now.

Can you tell me aproximate number of MONEY gained per  SKILLPOINT spent?

If it's easier you can also say like: 100 SKILL POINT = 30-50G for example.

The thing is, I have 300 SKILLPOINTS lying around, what do you reckon I should do with them?
How many is needed to craft Legendary?

Well, you need skill points to get the Mystic Clovers. Bloodstone Shard is 200 straight-up. I'd expect to need close to all 300 that you have to make one, though the average is probably closer to 250.

As for actual profit, it depends upon a lot of factors. The price of materials most importantly. I also think time of day is important. I usually do my crafting in the morning before I head to work (as I write this I'm watching buy orders fill on my other screen) and then sell it all in the evening when the NA hours hit. I suggest using sites like GW2Spidy to figure out what time of day is best to sell which items.

Happy TPing.

According to the wiki, it takes on average 231 mystic forge combinations to get the 77 clovers. So you would need 231 x 6 = 1,386 philosopher's stones. That's 139 skill points, and with just a little bad luck at the forge it can become a lot more. So you're saving up the 200 for the bloodstone plus 139 plus whatever extra you're going to need to get 250 of the T6 mats. Then there may be lodestone conversions necessary for the weapon-specific parts of the forge-binge.

So keep getting those skill points.

Hm, I had a link to a dynamically updated spreadsheet that showed gold earned per skillpoint doing promotions through the Mystic Toilet, but the link must be on my other computer.  I'll see if I can find it and link it.

The problem I ran into was that the items with the greatest return didn't have a significant volume on the TP.  I was faced with either having to do small amounts every day to slowly convert my skill points, or dropping a hundred of something on the TP when only ten were available in the lowest sell ranges.  That's just a recipe for getting undercut, since people pay attention to prices where abnormally large listings sit.

Ah, found it.

https://docs.google....BIdm5qWmc#gid=8

Tabs at the bottom to flip between rare/common/etc materials.  The sheet evaluates the risk based on the RNG involved with the Mystic Toilet.

As an illustration of what I was saying above, at the time I first ran across the spreadsheet I tried converting some skillpoints into gold.  At prices then, you could convert bone chips to bone shards at about 60s/skill with very little risk due to RNG.  Seems pretty good, but that means promoting about 500 chips to 160 shards.  With only about a dozen shards at any given price point, it seems awfully risky to dump that many shards onto the TP at once, but awfully tedious to dribble them on in batches of a dozen only to get 60 silver at the end.

I'm by no means an experienced TP player, so perhaps my logic is flawed somewhere there, but that's what deflated my interest in getting any sort of significant gold from material promotion.  It didn't seem any easier to burn skillpoints on material promotion than just finding things on the TP to flip, and keeping the skillpoints.
