IM new to guild wars series.   I was brought up by games like wow so the transition to guild wars was not easy.    I did love the leveling however.  First time in a long time that a mmo leveling process actually exciting to me.   I did not feel like i needed to rush to level 80. Then i got to level 80 and the fun went bye bye.

Whats the point of doing anything at level 80.   I just don't get it.

Theres guild events.   These events are odd, fun, and annoying. Over all different then im use to and can be an enjoyable process if there was enought people around to even do this with.

I try Explorable Dungeons out but everyone is rushing all the time pass mobs which many times leave me dead and being dead and stuck in combat is the worst expernice in any game.  No one wants to acually do the dungeons slowly so whats the point of this?   THis is not fun at all. Also for a new player this is worse cause i have No idea whats going on.

So whats lefts PVP?   Great so i got to waste more time and gold cause the rest of this game is basily unplayable now?   Apperently thats what people say is the most fun in this game is the world vs world but these kind of generals i love player vs enviroment more then pvp and this game is just a big dissapoint me for me so far.

First mmo indeed were i had more fun leveling then i did at endgame.   VEry odd feeling and cheap feeling.

So i asking anyone kind enought to give their thoughts   what am i doing wrong why is level 80 stuff so boreing and very unfriendly.    SHould i just find a bigger guild that acually does many things?  Server transfer?   shrug  it just seems like the game is dead i almost feel like going back to older mmos because of this.

I'd say people who start years after a MMO is launched have a harder time adapting to a community that has already done everything. GW2 is a prime example of this, with its low content for a level 80.

8 dungeons means a huge chunk of the people you will be playing with have already done everything there is in the game. Most of the people doing dungeons are not newbie friendly, they expect you to follow them and know all the mechanics. I've been playing  since closed beta and I've never had more fun in this game than I did in launch, where everyone was new, everyone was exchanging tactics or even making their own in the heat of the moment when you couldn't pass a point in a dungeon. A fond memory is when I was playing Elementalist and we were getting our asses handed at path 3's burrows part, I discovered all by my own that ice bow was amazing for it. A new game meant there was little to no guides on the internet on how to do stuff, so most of the time it was experimenting and actually having a craplaod of fun.

I would say that that is your problem. You are not enjoying the game because the people you play with are simply doing everything in automatic more than to have fun. My advice would be to make your own LFG for dungeons and put "New to dungeons" or "Newbies welcome" or even "Learning run". Search for people who are playing the game like you, maybe invite some IRL friends and you could have an experience as many of us did in launch.

Well when you hit 80 for the 1st itme there's a lot of stuff to do like exploring the world to 100%, read the lore and find interesting stuff. Finish your Personal Story and start doing the Living World Season 2 content, play WvW and sPvP. And most importantly yes as Knuckle Joe said make your own LFG and write "Doing dungon legacy" or "No rush" or his suggestions. For ppl that do not know what "legacy" means, it means that you are doing a certain event, dungeon, boss, etc. the way it was intended to be done (without skipping, stacking and other stuff). Good luck to you and I hope you still find some things that are fun. Worst case scenario you can start on some achivements.

I would recommend asking someone to run you through a dungeon explaining how things are supposed to be done. GW2 has a very friendly, helpful community with many veteran players who wouldn't mind spending an extra few minutes explaining things to pubbies. At least this was the case when I played.

But in general this is pretty much how the game is. It's very fun and exciting during the first playthrough which is very uncommon for an MMORPG, but once you reach lvl80 and finish the story the fun factor falls off a bit.

My advice would be to treat the dungeons and fractals purely as farming material and focus on socialising, achievement hunting and events. Another interesting thing to take a look at is the economy, which can be very fun if you find the right market to play with.

Side note: PvP costs you nothing. (or less than 5 silver if you don't have full armor/weapons)

PvP is the end game in every game, imo.

The intended point of level 80 play is the same as the point of play at levels 1-79. ANet mistakenly designed the game assuming that people would derive fun from playing those levels, instead of deriving fun from leveling while playing those levels, which is a completely different thing.

This is probably the most innovative thing about GW2, since every other MMO was designed to be semi-boring during leveling and to keep the "fun" part for max level. The original design idea of WoW (which almost all modern-day MMOs, including GW2, are based on) was to make an MMO that was all about raiding, at max level.

Since GW2 PvE is designed exactly like WoW but without the interesting raid part at the end (instead it has a boring dungeon part), it causes what the OP refers to as "the fun went bye bye (...) VEry odd feeling and cheap feeling".

Haha! That's like the best review of GW2. But yeah, it's just another game funded by people who don't have better things to do, apparently. Some people have a lot of extra money, and that's ok, but I kinda wish they'd stop supporting the game. I don't know if we'd get an expansion sooner then. But I also have very high expectations for the expansion, so keep funding the making of it . I'm not spending any more money on the game. I've got CE + normal account, and definitely spent more than their cost on gems. Some spent thousands, so I shut up & just wait for the expansion.

Unfortunately, they are published by NC Soft.  They know only two models for making profit: micro-transactions and subs; and it's worked very well for them, with Aion and Lineage.  If Anet fell off the grid bad enough, they would be "coerced" down one road or the other.  Hell, that might be why we've seen more and more effort put into the TP, and the way they revamped the gem purchasing options.

As for level 80, they screwed up, royally, by taking away one of the things that made the PvE side great.  They took away any content in lower level areas that would make any level 80's want to go back. The whole leveling process was boned, as well.  Grind-grind-grind...then a little PS.  Then grind-grind-grind...then a little PS.  Etc, etc...
