Also, looking at the picture Tzu got earlier... Whom would I need to kill to get such an artwork? x,D (Aka, do you do commissions/art trades/requests?)

@Baktwerel: Nah, I don't really do commissions. I did that piece for her since I needed stuff for my portfolio and Tzu's source material was interesting.

I really, really like how you portray women in your artwork. They look realistically tough with wonderfully varied faces, and look awesome in all that armor.

@Aero: Huh, it not loading fully or something?
@Toms: Ask and ye shall receive.
@Perynne: Hey there Perynne, long time no see. Yeah, it's something I've recently become aware of thanks to my girlfriend. So proper portrayal of women and people of color in future works are something important to focus on.
@Raven: Pft, I wish. I'm still looking for jobs around here. Sent an inquiry to the Anet studio down in Orange County, but I'm still waiting for a response :\
@Korra: Thanks, I'd recommend doing a lot of real life studies and the sort. Don't feel discouraged if you don't get it right away - just keep at it.
@Morag: Glad you're liking the armors <3
Been tied up with resume/job hunting nonsense. So here's some new/old stuff.
2-3 hour Hobbit study: full size (http://changinghand....Audio-350439603)

Portrait study of Ken Watanabe from Last Samurai.

Small teaser for the second image I did for the Guild Launch website. Did this sometime late last year - just waiting for them to put it on their website so I can finally post it.

Some avatars I did for my brother's friend's company back in Las Vegas. They wanted a series of cartoony Star Wars related avatars based on their officer's portraits.

It is fine now, not sure what was wrong.
The sky in the Thorin pic is positively velvety.
The avatars look great, lucky them to have a Charlie portrait

@Aero: Ah good, yeah must've been a loading problem. Glad you like the Thorin pic.
Snip-it of what I've been working on since that Ken Watanabe study. Going to be submitting to the Expose CG art magazine coming up in February. I made that pic of Dixun for the previous entry last year, but I missed the deadline. I'll be turning that one in this year and making a newer/better pieces as well.
Some character designs/studies of Iron who will be the character this pic focuses on. Also, now there's an actual sketch of what Iron's face looks like under the helmet.

I like the sequence showing the parts being put on that samurai armor. They must have started the process the night before to be ready for battle the next day.
And great earlier art too. Leave it to Peter Jackson to have Thorin bring dwarves the cool-factor they deserve. And I like those Star War characters.

If I move forward with my card game, I need some art works. (the theme is about serial killers, so aiming for both a dark and over extracted charactericture style, as well as dash of Pip boy art) .. Interested?

@AJ: Mmm, depends on my time. Still desperately looking for work right now, so it just depends if I'm homeless or not in the future.
Here's the big project I was working on. Been wanting to do something with a bit more thought to it, rather than just another action scene. I wanted to play with Iron's character and his role as a warrior. The idea here is that even though the War God watches over him, Death is still ever present and near.

Since the original piece is so big (22x30"), it's really best viewed at full size so you can see all the detail. I don't really want to post the original because of art theft, but here's a close up to give an idea of the details.

And here's some preliminary work before I started the final.

Here's something completely different. Been wanting to do this one for a while, as well as work on something other than fantasy related. Knocked it out late last night in a few fun hours. Illustration of John Carpenter's 82' cult classic "The Thing". If you like horror/sci-fi and haven't seen it, you should.

"You gotta be ****-ing kidding me."
Really great picture Charlie! I love the shading and the expression is perfect. You really get the same sense of isolated horror that was in the movie.

Slightly off topic - pertaining more to The Thing

Also I feel you on the job search (doing similar except for writing). It sucks. Good luck!
