You had the option to buy them. ANet never told you, sorry you are not allowed to buy Collector's Edition of Faction or Nightfall, because you already have prophecies. Also the minies were tradeable. The hat is not tradeable.

I want to buy the wizard hat, I don't need to get it for free, but even if I want to buy it I can't. Why? Because I'm not a new kid.

Is not the price reduction that bothers people, sales happen all the time, we know and we are ok with that. Is the fact that you can't get the hat at all as an old customer.

You and your friend ended up with teh same game and expansions. He paid more, you paid less, but in the end you both got the same content. If you would get an exclusive "ultimate edition" armor with your Ultimate Edition Dragon Age do you think your friend would be happy about it? Maybe he would like to get the same armor too for 5$ as a separate DLC but EA Games will say they wont sell it to him, just to new players. Is that fair?

The game is live since last saturday. That's a week and a few hours. Not many people have gold now since you have to spend it on gear, trait books, waypoints, etc. Most likely the price of gems will go up laters when people learn to make gold.
