#2134140 So it seems a lot of naughty boys and girls got one last gift from Santa this...

Seriously? If it breaks the game don't do it. It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp people.

#2087521 So who got a precurser from the final Karka event?

You don't have any clue how this meme works, do you?

@OP: No precursor for me (looted 2 chests on separate overflows). Guildmate got a Dusk.

#1833277 Point of PvE?

Posted sty0pa on 28 August 2012 - 11:49 AM

I'm pretty sure that while you're scaled to 80 in WvWvW, you don't automagically get traits.
Without those 70 trait points, a 'scaled up lvl 7' is going to get owned by a 'real 80'.

BTW, not sure you realized it, but people may have tastes different than yours.  Your post is essentially asking "why does everyone like blue?  Orange is clearly the better color, blue is pointless."

#1785745 Norn dance doesnt fit

Posted Dyleath on 22 August 2012 - 12:05 PM

It's not unusual to think the Norn dance doesn't fit.

But yeah, don't think it fits the lore and culture of them at all, but who ever heard of an Asura body popping? Still a shame, they could have chose a whole lot of better dances, hopefully the dance vendor sells better dances, if it actually exists.

Look on the bright side, It's the ultimate troll dance when you kill someone in pvp!

#1650000 Removing the challenge of Vistas, I’m sorry I didn’t get it.

Posted Jokerx7 on 29 July 2012 - 09:00 AM

They can ignore them, and they will get everything they like. They don't need to do this to unluck something. It just gives them some money and some cosmetics.
They aren't jumping puzzles. You do little to no jump at all. In some of them. (Like 20% of them) I haven't jumped once. Maybe there are others that need more jumping. But they are just a few.
They don't like the map completition, they are just here for the items. If it didn't give any items, they won't be complaining. If they really liked to explore or the map completition, they will be doing them.

#1617256 Gem prices, acceptable or unacceptable?

Posted Kalx on 20 July 2012 - 07:41 PM

the only bad thing about gem prices is that there are no discounts for mass purchases

#1496112 Mystic forge thoughts?

Posted Ravers on 06 June 2012 - 12:37 AM

Eric Flannum: The Mystic Forge uses a combination of random and non-random recipes. For example, if I throw four rare swords into the forge, it will return a random sword to me with a chance for that sword to be substantially better. There are also specific items that can be created by throwing four very specific items into the forge with no random involved at all. Players should look for clues hidden around the world and in items for what combinations might work. Another exciting aspect of the Mystic Forge is that it is very easy for us to add recipes, so post-launch, we can continue to add new things for players to discover.

#1417253 Dyes not account wide - A Broken Promise?

Posted Mordakai on 06 May 2012 - 06:27 PM

Well, it certainly is interesting to me that out of all the "broken promises" (No death penalty, free resspecs, account-wide dye unlocks) that the No account-wide dye unlocks seem to be causing the most controversy, and are arguably the only "cosmetic" thing out of the three!

Why are people more upset about this "broken promise" then the other ones?

In Divinity's Reach are high-level karma vendors that sell seraph armor and USED TO sell transmutation stones as well (for all levels). Source is reddit and a friend of mine, who was in the closed beta and confirmed that ALL stones were available.
Now one of the first things I did this BWE was to go to this merchant an he didn't have any stones at all anymore. Neither did any of the other karma vendors (low level or higher level).
So I think it's safe to assume we won't get them for karma anymore :(
Maybe anet listens and will realize that this was maybe not a good move... one can hope. After all, they are not finished yet.
As I said, it's a beta.

In the last beta they had character slots in the Gem store, now they don't. That doesn't mean that they aren't going to be selling character slots. It's not impossible that ArenaNet simply didn't want players using Transmutation stones during the most recent beta event.

Well, I guess we know what this means. Beta Builds are supposed to advance the game as they are implemented, not take it back. My guess is that they were there during the Press Beta and the Closed Beta so that there would be no controversy and people would prepurchase the game. Then, after they took our money, they did what they were planning all along - remove any means of obtaining stones in game and selling them in the cash shop alone. I was actually afraid that this might happen ever since they announced the stones would be in the store primarily and they were looking for ways to implement them in-game. You can't actually make something as important as changing the appearance of a piece of armor cost money and still deem yourself an honest, caring company.
Jumping to conclusions and making irrational statements based on it doesn't help anyone. All you have to say is that you want Transmutation stones to be sold for Karma; accusing ArenaNet of deception isn't productive.

As we hit the next beta or 2, people will really start figuring out leveling strategy.

The thing that pisses me off is the removal of transmutation stones from karma vendors. That action right there is one of pure greed, and their marketing people need to pull their heads out of their arses. So as it stands, those of us who played GW1 for all those HoM rewards have to fork over (bleep)-tons of gold for gems, or spend extra money just to use our HoM rewards past the first few levels. That is unacceptable. (assuming HoM items don't scale with level)
Who said that was removed? The BWE1 only had up to level 25 zones, so none of the high-level karma vendors were even accessible. Add to that the fact that the majority of the Karma vendors clearly have yet to be given their proper stock (I highly doubt they're all just going to be selling bread) and I see no reason to believe that they aren't still going to be sold for Karma.

It's amazing how quick people are to jump to conclusions about the finished game based on information from an early-mid beta test.

Seriously - before the prepurchase you knew enough about the game to decide if you want it or not. And if you bought a Collector's Edition, you were confident enough in the product to spend your money. You don't spend 150 bucks on something you didn't research on and find good.

I know the character-based / accountwide issue is a bit nerve-wracking, but to say "I regret prepurchasing" is clearly overreacting!

You didn't have to put your money down. And even with this "issue" (and believe me - I'm not happy either, don't "fanboi" me...) it's still a really really great game and having played it I am at the point that I would buy it again if it brings the release nearer... The withdrawl is strong in me.
I will simply decide not to buy so much stuff in the cash shop. That's all. It's not as if they would be selling 100 gamebreaking things all of the sudden.
