In Topic: What's the one feature you'd like to see GW2 import from another MMO?

Housing from Wildstar
Landmarking from EQN
Foundry from Neverwinter

If I HAD to pick, it would be landmarking. I'm a HUGE proponent of player generated content in MMOs.

Dailies bring me in for the short term

Events keep me playing for the mid-term.

WvW, Dungeons, and Legendary keep me playing for the long-term.

I never really feel like my effort was wasted. took about 4 weeks off in June, but been playing pretty consistently outside of that.

I'm just loling because I think y'all have no idea how these types of "servers" work nor general FPS play. There is literally no reason you need to pay for custom matches when a lot of games that use this same system don't have to charge their players. The only way you'd believe that line is if you've never even played an FPS game or a game that used a similar system.

Blacklight: Retribution charges people for custom servers.

Making dumb activities optional doesn't make them good.
It just means you don't need to do the dumb activities. They are still dumb.

Are we still talking about WvW??? That's what this topic is about, right?

For people who enjoy WvW:

Does this take away from WvW?

The problem is that the activity itself isn't the goal. The activity is the means to a goal. So if a player doesn't like a certain activity, that doesn't mean the player is only giving up on the activity itself - that player is also giving up on the rewards that activity creates.
We don't do shit we don't like for the sake of doing shit we don't like - we do shit we don't like so that we can get shit we like.

And it's in those situations that "don't like it, don't do it" really isn't helping.

Which, in my analysis, only applies to ascended gear (rings and accessories in particular).
While they can be done with laurels, the best way is to do guild missions and FotM.

However, I will yield that most of the content in the game can be done with exotics...

Keep in mind, I did say that ascended acquisition was still an issue...you just removed that from what you quoted from me.
