It was one Anet employee, not the entire company and they posted a formal apology. With that, it shouldve ended.

Have you ever witness controversy in politics? That takes months to years for people to forget.

This is definitely one of those moments.

And in regard to GW2 specifically, even for an MMO, it is terrible in certain areas, I have never played another MMO, where 7 months there were still literally hundreds of bugs in the core class mechanics (skills, traits, etc), nor I have I played an MMO where so often a bug "fix" either fails to address the problem or causes yet another bug.

You should try a Cryptic MMO. You will learn to love the bugs or die from yelling at the top of your lungs to get things fixed.

It's been said that what's crippling sPvP development is the lack of funds. This has been pretty much confirmed by the devs themselves. Bit of a long shot in my opinion, but if sPvP gets more attention ANet might pour some more resources into it.

I wonder if attention and money would be enough to save sPvP. Even if the sPvP team had money, there's the issue of them actually being able to fix glaring issues with the game mode. They've had so many years to prepare and refine it already. The fact that they've built so much content and balancing (if I'm so bold as to call it that) around the current combat system leads me to believe that they'll stick their current mentality with the game's design with or without the funds.

If that's true then maybe its time for that expansion that they claimed that they didn't need.

Give them a chance to use it. Old habits die hard.
