As OP, I officially declare that this thread has gotten off topic.  Thank you for any suggestions, but fighting about my intentions is unproductive.  My original intention was to use the multi-hit property of channeling + quickness in order to rack up procs quickly.  I see now that a might build for flamethrower is better.  I will not be using grenades, not because I'm too lazy to ground-target, but because I find it cumbersome to press keys while trying to dodge.  I do not use bombs because I tend to stand in one place while using them and that usually gets me killed.  I find flamethrowers to be versatile, making up for any lack of dps compared to other kits.  I am aware of it's short comings.  If you want to discuss kit statistics or argue about whether a post is constructive, take it somewhere else.

I feel compelled to state my reason for choosing to power up a flamethrower, rather than use a rifle or bombs.  The flamethrower lets me hit multiple targets at range while skill 3 and 5 allow ample room for survival if things go wrong.  I would probably go with grenades except for the rapid clicking and general disdain for hotkeys.

I see what you mean.  Stacking might may be the way to go, though the lack of points in power scares me.  I suppose the armor and accessories will make up for it.  I will most likely keep elixir u for the burst dps, but change it out as needed.  I think I will stay with p/s, even though this build is now might focused, as a form of cc and for that extra sigil.  Thanks for the help.
