I still have mixed feelings on TL to be honest. Given their track record for servers they just don't seem dedicated to the community. I'm really hoping they prove me wrong and are here to stay. I won't say they haven't been helpful in WvW. They have. However, I have to say from personal experience in WvW with them, Freelancer/TL does not do a good job communicating with non-TL people on the WvW map. People will ask his group for help and they'll say nothing or give vague answers. They'll sit in one place for long periods while the rest of us are fighting without explaining what they are doing when asked. If you really want this to work, you need to communicate more. TL is decent, but this is T1 we're going up against. We need everyone on the same page and working together. That was just my experience playing on the map with them. I assumed they knew what the hell they were doing and had a plan, but I could tell people in the map chat were getting frustrated because they didn't know what was up.
I'm sorry you feel that way, we ask people join us in TS because a lot of the times we only use TS to communicate. From time to time we will be "Sitting" in one spot because we are either gathering everyone up to see who is with us and how many and/or going over our next plan to this this keep or supply camp etc. Tonight we were just sitting around because everything was captured and we were just going over straits/plans for next week's WvW. A lot of us are ready to be in WvW most of the day/night. Some of us even have vacation time this week, so we are not going to waste a second. We understand our track record isn't perfect, no one's is. We want to show IoJ we we can do and want to help IoJ have more organized guilds too. Are we saying we will be the #1 guild on IoJ, no way. We play guild wars 2 for the same reason as a lot of other people play guild wars & other video games. We want to have fun and we want to enjoy the game. I'll admit we are not always in WvW every second were online, I don't think anyone is. Sure we do other things in WvW, but thats WvW is our main objective. We were working on getting our raid leaders & commanders online but its hard to get everyone at the same time due to work, family, and personal issues. We also have some of our members just ragequitting from the guild after we spend 100 gold on them, but thats another story.
Right now we are working on making new commanders who can stay on longer and/or get on earlier so someone can help direct our people and other people running with us. We're trying to communicate with other people around us, but we try to spam out our TS info so they can join us and listen in. We also try to shout out what were doing, but like I said its not the easiest thing to do when leading a guild and trying to do 5 things at once.
You should run with us sometime in WVW & join our TS for a few hours, see how we play & act. You might just be surprised.
Hi gank, I've missed you & your tinfoil hat posts.
I dont see it as a problem. Anet is doing the right thing by keeping server transfers open. Once the dust settles from launch, and yes it is still settling, players will be a little more comfy. I think the trick is to have guesting up and running for a while before "locking" the servers.
With guesting, alot of players may jump ship from their guild/server and friends can more easily decide which guild they will wind up in. After a couple months of guesting, I think guilds will be more concrete. Then adding a fee to transfer servers would have a much greater impact, and less likely to occur.
Any servers that have no que and want help in WvWvW post in these forums. I see half the people complianing that they are losing and cannot get enough people to play and the other half (me) complaining of the long ques.
Some people might transfer to your server and be of help. It is just no one wants to go to a server that has given up.
