A mining pick that looks better and has better effects and animations than most legendary's in the game.

A Legendary Mining Pick....in the gem store.

That's all I need to know about where GW2 is going in the future...

Oh and it's not even a cosmetic item anymore, soon as they added unlimited use to the item, it no longer became just a skin or just "cosmetic"...

Good to hear. It is after all impossible to balance a game around both PvP and PvE at the same time without screwing up one of the types.

Yes being overly-reliant on other players is not a good thing.  If you are reliant that means others can dictate terms to you if you need to join their group.  You have to use the build that they specified, be the right profession, have exotic or ascended gear, or maybe even have the right title to prove your capabilities, etc.

At least in GW1, I can easily shrug off any demands if I don't feel like meeting them.  Heroes do not care if you have optimal gear or not, they would fight for you till they drop.  In GW2, if I don't meet the demands that means I can't do the content on my own.  You can try to find a group of people that do not mind your less-than-optimal gear or profession or even your lack of experience in a dungeon, but I am sure such a group of forgiving players would be harder to find in GW2, than to just get your own heroes team going in GW1.

and wish you could have them in this game? Ima go yes on heroes. The game just feels so empty without them now. I end up playing GW1 more than this now because of the heroes and the Zashien quests and Nicholas the Traveler quests and taking the with me and watching the slaughter everything because of the builds I gave them. That was the FUN of GW1 I think most was building characters skill bars. This game seems to have 1 or 2 templates of skillbar and yer done.

It's not the only worthwhile thing though, it can still drop rares/exotics. Why not reward someone for doing a mega boss more than once a day, only less the second time?

You can always stop using waypoints and work your way to an event as you see fit, no one is stopping you from doing that.

Why exactly would you want to prevent people from waypointing to exactly where they want to go? Because they'd have a harder time reaching what they actually want to do? What you call "adventuring", usually turns into a mindless chore. At least Anet stayed true to their own manifesto with their waypoint strategy: play and have fun now, not play to have fun later.

Simple example: I needed to complete a generally ignored dynamic event chain, to unlock a karma merchant. After several pleas in mapchat without any success, I poked my guild and 10 seconds later I had 2 guildies helping me deal with the events. Once everything was done, they both hopped back to whatever they were doing. Take away waypoints, and this scenario turns into an agonizing ordeal for both me and my guildies.

You have to unlock every waypoint by at least running there once. So there's your adventure. Anything that happens afterwards, is just repeating the same thing over and over again.

Waypoints are optional for adventurers. So whether there's too many or not is irrelevant. Ignore them if it bothers you.

Waypoints are fine. This isn't Guild Wars 1. Nothing is stopping you from manually running around and you have no right to force others into your brand of fun.

It makes me think that you think this game is too dull to play outside of the fact that it is easy to waypoint around and do stuff. If the content isn't worth getting to, then isn't the content the problem and not the means of travel?

Also, I figured someone would say if you don't like waypoints, don't use them. It's not that I don't like waypoints - I just think the game would be better for everyone without as many of them.


Because I have a very busy schedule and I don't have time to waste trekking through nonsense mobs and cc to get to where I want to go. I already went through and got those way points the first time around. It frees my time up so I'm doing more actual content rather then running around.

If you really love running around then I suggest not taking whatever the closest way point is and walking the rest of the way if you want that experience.

Bad idea. This will kill dynamic eventing. We need to make it easier to get to events (get rid of the ff) not harder.

And you are not exploring, you have already been there lots of times, you are just adding grind and artificially stopping players doing what they want to do.

Large groups of players in one spot to loot a chest- like never before in the history of Guild Wars 2.

People have commented on topics such as guesting... and lag... and drop rates...and all kinds of other stuff but everyone can agree that after each of these events have been completed, there are...

A lot of people standing around for quite a few minutes.

Wouldn't it be great if you had some sort of "Hot Event/ Hot Quest" available that you could join with all the people you just brought down the Claw of Jormag with...(or any of the dragons/ World Event bosses).

Personally, I can't complement Guild Wars 2 enough for focusing on combat with larger groups(more than others MMORPG's that I have played)- I hope there is potential for expanding on World Events to have Dynamic Chain Events-   maybe after one World event ends, several portals open and players from the completed event can choose to join one of several different events throughout Tyria.  Just seems like there is some potential here...

When so many people currently are gathering in one spot for an event that it would be nice to "keep it going."
