Sky Sanctuary is a small Australian / Oceanic guild of 40 members with about 10-15 active/core members. Because of the recent desertion of our current server, Eredon Terrace, we are considering a new home to rebuild our guild on. We haven’t been a very active guild in WvW, however it’s something we want to soon focus on as the majority of our members have explored a lot of the PvE content.

I understand that it’s difficult to find a server to cater to all a guilds needs, but ideally we are looking for a server that:

• Has an active player base not only in WvW, but in PvE too.
  
• Has a positive attitude towards builds a strong sense of server community, e.g. has an active server community site and/or teamspeak etc
  
• Has a decent oceanic presence so it is still active during our guilds peek playing times allows potential recruits to expand our community.
  
• Has many other friendly guilds that show interest in server cooperation (especially other oceanic guilds )
  
• Doesn’t worry so much about wins and loses in WvW matches, as long as we had fun giving it our best through coordination

It doesn’t have to be one of the high tier/most populated servers. We would happy to be a part a fun and active community.

So far we’ve been looking into Jade Quarry, Black Gate, Yaks Bend, Fort Aspenwood, Sanctum of Rall, Sea of Sorrows and Tarnished Coast. Any extra help, info or just point in a direction where I can research more about each server would be greatly appreciated!

About Us

Sky Sanctuary is a newly formed Australian Guild Wars 2 guild. Our aim is to form an interwoven, friendly and well known community that grows alongside the evolution of Guild Wars 2. Sky Sanctuary does not just include MMORPG veterans, however ardent gamers that are enthusiasts of various genres of video games. Many of our members have an extensive history of gaming background starting from the 90’s days of SNES and SEGA retro and presently to the latest releases on PC and next generation consoles. A few of us are even interested in game development as a career or hobby.All of us are passionate about gaming and love to discuss the latest gaming news, especially around E3 - accordingly we have very little sleep during that time watching the conferences live.

We are, strictly speaking, a PvX guild that wants to enjoy all aspects of the game with members by our side. By focusing on a specific portion of the game we believe that would diminish the entire Guild Wars 2 experience not only for selves but as a guild.

Therefore;
We won’t be focusing on PvE, however that doesn’t mean we won’t be conquering explorable dungeons!
We won’t be spending all our time towards WvW, but that won’t stop us from claiming and defending keeps for our server!
We won’t utilize all our efforts on PvP, but we sure as hell will be strategizing team compositions and various builds!

Beta Weekend Events
We will be spending all of our time as a Guild in the weekend events in World vs. World (but don't feel discouraged to try out PvE/PvP, if you want to ). The reason for this is because many of us want to avoid PvE and structured PvP spoilers until release.

Other Online Games
Current members are actively playing other online games such as Diablo 3 and League of Legends while we wait in anticipation for Guild Wars 2 to release.

At Release
We will have more of a focus towards PvE as a guild. We want to give everyone time to get into the game enjoy developing there character. There will be few formally organized events as we want to let everyone have time to enjoy the mass amounts of new content of the world of Tyria. Of course we will still be jumping into WvW and structured PvP, but they won't be an initial priority.

The Future
PvE: Organised Dungeon runs, Meta-events. Mini games or guild created events will definitely be considered too. We want to do it all!
Structured PvP: Competive and highly skilled 5 man teams will be formed. We want members theorycrafting and perfecting builds to help create an epic team composition.
WvW: From forming mercenary groups with hit run tactics to claiming and defending keeps, we want to make an awesome guild experience in GW2's answer to World PvP.

Joining Sky Sanctuary

Sky Sanctuary welcomes both casual and hardcore gamers alike. We are looking for mature and friendly individuals who are looking for guild that holds ideals close to our own or just a place to call home with a collective group of individuals to enjoy with. We are not after applicants who will only be an addition to our member count. Essentially, we believe in quality over quantity.

We will dedicate a large portion of our time towards GW2 to be able to experience and tackle the multitude of content the game has to offer. To participate in more of the hardcore events Sky Sanctuary will be accomplishing (such as Structured PvP and Explorable Dungeons), it goes without saying actively playing is of the essence. On the other hand do not let that discourage you, we will be organizing events to accommodate everyone!

To make this clear, skill is not a criterion for participation in our events, however please keep in mind you must be willing to be open for advice and criticism when neccessary – In return you can trust us in saying we won’t be arrogant and harsh. We believe this is needed to not only grow as a guild, but as a community among our server.
