Should a wipe kick your party from a Dungeon?

16 January 2013 - 02:02 AM

Today I completed Twilight Arbor exp for the first time. During the Vevina part our team wiped several times due to our inexperience and lack of tactics. (We were using 2 Eles and 3 Necros, ie randomway)
Eventually we managed to prevail and, after sometime, complete the dungeon.
This made we realise that if we'd been using the GW1 method of dungeons, we wouldn't have gotten very far whatsoever.

My question is do you think inexperience at a piece of end-game content should lead to a severe punishment such as being kicked from the dungeon?

An amendment I suggest is that Areananet reintroduce a death penalty like in Guild Wars 1. Although it would look the same as the original (15-60% DP), no stat reductions would take place. Once every party member gets to 60% and the party wipes again, the party gets kicked from the dungeon.

Feel free to discuss.

Question on transmutation

04 September 2012 - 04:42 PM

Hey I was just wondering whether it was possible, through the use of transmutation stones, to make a heavy armour have the appearance of a light armour.

For example if I have a heavy shoulder pad and I transmute it with a cultural light shoulder pad, would it gain the appearance of the light armour whilst maintaining the heavy armour stats? (And therefore be wield-able by warriors and guardians)

Thanks in advance.

New Laptop

Hey I'm planning to get a new laptop to play Guild Wars 2 on and after some searching I found this:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM (2.30GHz, 6MB cache)
RAM: 6 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA® GT650M 2GB GDDR3

Would this be a good laptop to play GW2 on? If so could you please give an estimate as to what setting and FPS i would get.

Thanks in advance.

Desktop or Laptop

Hey I'm stuck between choosing which is better. I'm going to use the new PC to play Guild Wars 2 and possibly Skyrim.

Desktop
Processor: Intel® Core i7-2600 (3.40 GHz, 8 MB cache memory)
Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Graphics card: NVIDIA GT520
Hard drive: 2 TB 7200 rpm SATA

Laptop
Processor: i5-2430 processor (2.4GHz, 6MB)
Operating System: Windows 64bit Home Premium
RAM: 6GB
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GT635M
Hard drive: 640GB

I'm pretty sure the graphics card on the Laptop is better, but overall which one would run the games better? (FPS/Graphics-wise)

Thanks in advance.

Error with Guilds?

26 August 2012 - 01:17 PM

Hey I created a Guild and tried to talk to various Guild NPCs, but they all tell me I need a Guild to interact with them. (I have a guild...)
Is there something I'm missing or do I need to upgrade politics?

Also when I try to edit ranks within the Guild it gives me an error message and takes me back to the character selection screen.

Thanks.
