Interview: ArenaNet talks PvE vs. PvP | Massively

09 January 2012 - 03:45 PM

Rubi inteviews John Stumme and Eric Flannum about PvE vs PvP balancing and priorities.

Also take into consideration that although we do consider all three types of play to be equally important to the success of the game, PvE content takes a lot more in the way of raw resources and time to develop, so we needed to get the ball rolling on PvE early. Because of this, we just had more to talk about with regard to PvE early on. We'll be releasing more info about PvP and WvW as well as PvE in the coming months.

When a player creates a character in Guild Wars 2, they will be able to answer many questions about their personal character history. These answers will help determine your personal story in the game. As many fans have theorized, one of the first things you choose is a 'subdivision' of your race, which provides a more personal feel to your character's history. For the humans, that means their ancestry--Elonan, Krytan, Ascalonian and Canthan--and also their social status as gentry or commoners of the city of Divinity's Reach.
