I second the OP. I also had problems in that specific part of www. They see you, no chanelled stuff at work here. Alone, as a thief, you cant no longer solo that event, unless you use extreme caution, hide a lot in los, heal constantly, etc. but you struggle. Also, play against a human (player) mesmer with phantasm build, and watch as they basically see through stealth. I dont mean the pistoleer chanelled atacks, i mean ibeserker, iswordsman, etc., they give you away a lot as they drop attacking too slowly. Its a mess this update. As a thief, specially in pve, your means of protection is going stealth, and thats when you heal and remove conditions also, this just messes that up.
In general I think Puando is right, though, about power vs precision.
In geist's extreme example of running 2600 power (not attack, power - which means you're getting 1684 points of power from gear/might) and 250% critical damage (meaning you are full-out berserkers or valkyries along with +30% from traits) you get a 0.22% damage increase by adding precision instead of power. At almost ANY lower amount, however, you'll get more by adding power over precision.
Of course, it's optimal to add both (as well as crit chance) if you want damage. Trust me, I ran simulations based on baseline precision/power (916) and adding 100 to each independently, I tried it with full berserker's gear (except for the weapon, which was the variable), and with 0% crit damage, 30% crit damage, 65% crit damage. I never mixed traits in specifically. I was incredibly shocked to find that in all of my calculations power beat precision (by more than precision beats power above, but not much more).

Exactly. When comparing purely from the mathematical stand point, without procs/traits that benefit crits, power beats precision in almost all possible scenarios, one would need an extreme case, like the one i presented, and only possible in www/pve, to obtain a precison > power situation. Common sense is the opposite of logical thinking, thats why i dont listen to the masses. And, no,i did not forget that final dmg is produced with skill multipliers and weapon range dmg, coz that will have to be equated for both cases, in equal measure, so we can forgo them intirely.
Ascended gear has no jewel slot (but you can craft an infusion with +5 stats but its very expensive). So if you pick a ascended piece you have to put none in the jewel slot.
I think you play a thief based on your Spreadsheet so if you want take a look at the thief one and tell me what you think, looking for feedback atm.
Warrior sheet is almost done, prob by tonight.

Looking at your sheet now downloaded, the first page looked like the spreadsheet i talked about, but this one is much more thorough, its a great job indeed. The thief part is excelent, if you wanna know, the skill mods are correct, and i guess its the same for the other classes. Feedback? i have nothing to add here, maybe its a bit difficult to use for the general public, but for someone like me or you its well done indeed. One remark, only saw this coz i play thieve in www and went on to cross check with my build to see if the formulas were producing the right values: on the classes sheet, in the health total, if you are a thief and you have practiced tolerance, the sheet does not include this value in the totals presented, instead this value is in the thief section, but its fine, if you ask me. And the formulas are right, the values i cross checked are 100% accurate. I approve of this hamburger!! And since it has foods and potions and ascended gear, its gonna be my goto sheet for www building purposes. I play a thief and an ele, just for your information. All in all, this is epic work, great stuff indeed. How many years it took you to build it?
You are right the DPS is higher so i stand corrected. Also you can input values in my sheet and it gives you results for every weapon skill the profession has, but you have to DL to be able to change it.
I have now downloaded it, i have a question: those trinkets are arranged in order,first the trinket than the jewel, do those fractal backpieces and other trinkets also get jewels? I dont do pve, am uninformed about this, but i do an awful lot of www, and those trinks look a lot more powerful than exotics if they can take jewlery also instead of the infusions... How does this works?
