#1941638 Vigil Gear Stigma

Posted by Finder on 17 September 2012 - 09:13 PM

Just wondering if anyone here is aware of a stigma against the Vigil armour set, and maybe the other Orders too?

2 or 3 times I've had people just outright laugh at me being in the set... no idea why, no explanation :s

Only things I could think is, that people consider it a cheap set that lacks prestige? or maybe it's the stats composition (power/toughness/vitality) that the glass cannons all think it's real bad or something?

maybe the people who laugh at you should consider the stigma of being elitist douchebags ?

#1937167 2 weeks and still no CE items, worst CS ever.

Posted by Finder on 16 September 2012 - 01:21 PM

So I payed $100 more (not counting what I've spent on the gem store) and still they can't give me what I payed for. A two week old support ticket and still nothing.

Are the fanboys still going to tell I should just "be patient" and "be happy you can login"

Of course they will, to them I say...how long should I wait? a month? 6 months? a year? more?

I've been playing MMOs for over 16 years, this is by far the worst CS I have ever seen.

Of course I know the defenders of the faith here will promptly lock or delete this to protect Anet.

#1929497 New content to be announced soon.

Posted by Finder on 14 September 2012 - 04:39 AM

Colin Johansson has stated there's loads of free content coming down the pipes of all kinds cos anet just wanna make the game bigger. more DEs, more bosses, more minigames, more dungeons, more variety more everything regularly... i reckon monthly update end of month for the next while

You aren't going to get that much "FREE" content...and Anet can take that to the bank.

More maps! Im already done with all of them 100% :/ More stuff to do at end game. I dont wanna go back and do lower lvl stuff. I really dont.

They will never be able to cater to people who devour content as fast as humanly possible. It's not worth the time or money to even try.

#1924609 The trailer creators were on some serious shrooms...............

Know what I do like about the trailer?

It brings out all of the entertaining pseudointellectuals.

As much as I enjoyed the symbolism and metaphor involved in the trailer, I really feel like it's going to go over most people's heads, especially those not in tune with the MMO industry. As such, it's not surprising that most people find it to be unsatisfactory.

/rolls eyes

Oh one other comment.

Most of us didn't know that was a spoiler for the end until all of you went

#1922126 Looking For Dungeon restrictions

Posted by Finder on 12 September 2012 - 12:28 PM

When you say no you should elaborate why don't you want it or don't like it.

It's obvious, they don't want it BECAUSE WoW has it. It's the same reason they dislike many ideas.

#1922085 Loot mechanics screw over supports

Posted by Finder on 12 September 2012 - 12:16 PM

Well, if you want to bring WoW into it...

In WoW, during a boss fight, if you die - we will use a battle res on you. These spells are limited (1 per druid in the run), and need to be used wisely.

If we use a battle res on you, there is no reward, other than getting the person who died back into the fight.

You did not contribute to killing the boss. You revived someone who failed, and now that person will contribute to killing the boss.

I can tell you are European, since you don't seem to understand anything outside of your socialist mindframe, but failure is not rewarded, and should not be.

Nice you come off as a real bigot.

But if you want to talk about WoW, WoW doesn't use a "credit" system to decide if you get a reward or not. Your reward is determined by being in the group if it's for a quest...and by whatever loot rules the group or raid has going.

So for all your arrogant bluster, you just made a fool of yourself.

#1919635 Anet has a lot of gall...sending me an email to upgrade to Digital Deluxe

Come back after you got a refund from Adobe or Autodesk after purchasing one if their products.

Another who failed reading comprehension.

Besides, those products work.

CS response times taking a while during launch week? Surely you jest.

And fanboy replies like this are why companies get away with stuff like this. Blindly defending the devs from everyone.

#1916427 The Fundamental Design Flaw in GW2

Posted by Finder on 11 September 2012 - 10:21 AM

That was one of their many 180 degree philosophy turns in the past year. See transmutation stones, dyes not being account wide, traits respec cost and other such examples.

Game developeres (especially MMO) have the same credibility as politicians and used car salesmen.

If you're spelling the contraction of "You are" as "your", you're doing it wrong.

There are a lot of design flaws especially with the DE system. I've tried to mention them before, but everyone just keep saying it won't be an issue.

#1914590 The Eye of Arenanet

Posted by Finder on 11 September 2012 - 12:09 AM

Terrible indeed. They tried to go for the deep, thoughtful thing but instead it turned out cheesy.

For half the trailer it more like an ad for Funcom's The Secret World, especially the gas mask...looked like an Illuminati agent.

This was not only the worst trailer for a videogame I've ever seen, it was offensive to the intellect, grossly manipulative and shows that ArenaNet thinks that their audience is a bunch of stupid hipsters who prefer style over substance.

So what was the trailer about? Themes of freedom from stagnation, subversion, progression, "cool" subculture revolution, basically the whole works. Propaganda to relate playing an MMO videogame to freeing yourself. This is pretty much the lowest point of advertising, where it tries to manipulate you. It doesn't just show you a product and exhort its positives, it shows you a LIFESTYLE. You want to be a cool kid? Play Guild Wars 2. The time is now!

I just knew that spray painter was going to be some punk looking hipster with a nose piercing. It just had to happen. Good job ANet, you've finally convinced me that you are more than just incompetent, but actually "evil".

It's what happens when you let hipster art major who think they are intellectual come up with ideas.

#1913587 Making dyes account-wide?

Posted by Finder on 10 September 2012 - 08:39 PM

Pretty much this. Cox is messing up GW2 and it makes me sad.

The same thing happened to Diablo 3. The early videos looked like a great game, then it launched and it's obvious every design decision is designed to push you to use the real money auction house of which Blizzard gets a cut.

The longer I play, the more I see the same thing in GW2, design decisions to push me to the gem store. In actuality they are pushing me to the exit.

I spent a ton of money on the the Star Trek Online cash shop....because almost everything was account wide. Of course that is changing since Perfect World got their hooks in them.

And gold sellers LOVE a game where gold is hard to come by.
