PG13 perhaps that remains to be seen and if not talking about crystal clear adult or 18 year requirement it gets pretty difficult sometimes to estimate age rating.
He also hinted that the film will likely be PG-13, pointing to Batman as an example of a film that was still able to push boundaries without an R rating.
Finally I will not read to much spoilers. It is certainly hyped to the stars if it is compared to Avatar effects and Game of Thrones deeper story. Personally while I think Game of Thrones is good it is overrated. I like roughly Mortal Kombat(1995) at least as much as Game of Thrones.

I think it's pretty save to say that you are not the target audience for Game of Thrones and pretty much just watched it cause everyone else said it's blazing and now consider it 'good' because so many people told you it is, that it must be.

Might sound harsh, but those who read your posts know what your preferences are when it comes to cinematic entertainment and a fantastic story with fleshed out characters certainly didn't rank very high in those yet.

So it's no surprise that you'd compare Mortal Kombat with Game of Thrones. It's absurd really, but it's well within your rights to do so.

Now on the topic of the Warcraft movie, I'm looking forward to see the first snippets of it. I can't really imagine they'd have the budget to make something as visually stunning as Avatar and they certainly don't have the writers to be as full of depth as Game of Thrones is. Though did Stargate make that comparison or was it an actual comparison someone made who is involved with the production, I wonder?

#2259797 Mike O'Brien joins TinyCo - F2P/P2W Mobile Game Company

Anything that could be said about the motivation for this is pure speculation. Trying to connect this to Anet's direction is even more speculation, to the level at grasping at straws. He joined as a board member. That basically means he feels he can make some money by investing his time in the company.

#2214318 Update Notes for June 25th

I am happy with the AoE loot addition (finally!) But I am unhappy at the nerf to ranger pets. I don't see why it was necessary. And it's not like they compensated us with big buffs elsewhere. Pets were a major source of our damage. It's just baffling. We are anything but an OP class. We're a class that desperately needs help if anything.
From what I have read on the official forums, Ranger's pets were nerfed because of a Ranger BM Bunker build used in sPvP & tPvP - from what I understand, this build focused on self-defence for the Ranger while keeping the damage high via the pet, and because of the point-defence/offence nature of sPvP/tPvP some PvP'ers were having trouble dealing with this (ie they didn't know how to dodge around and move and make pets miss their attacks). So ANet took the nerf mallet and slammed Ranger Pets in all forms of the game.

Considering that they split the way Mesmer clones work between PvE and PvP, I really wonder why they didn't do the same thing for Ranger's Pets - because as it stands, they have hurt all rangers in every aspect of the game, unless you are one of the few Rangers to use Spiders or Bears, as they are the only pets to either be untouched (Bears) or given a slight buff (Spider). Even rangers who put nothing into BM will still loose dps from this if they use any of the pets or pet families that got nerfed.

Someone on the official forums tested, and as it stands spider's auto-attack does as much damage as cats main attack. Really sad.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like most ranger pets only recieved a nerf to one particular skill. I don't see how that will dramatically decrease damage at all really.
Some pets only got hit once, but others got hit twice, and because the damage is up to 50% on pets, that's a huge dps loss for rangers when you consider a ranger's pet accounts for 30-50% of their damage (the more into BM they go, the more the pet gets to becoming prime damage dealer). Also, most of the nerfs are to the main spam attack or the burst F2 attack, reducing either/both will reduce dps provided. For instance:

- Jaguars had their F2 stealth burst attack nerfed, while all felines had their Maul attack reduced by half.
- all drakes have their auto-attack reduced by 27%, Marsh Drakes AoE turned into a frontal-aoe & river drake's lightening (F2) burst skill got reduced by 17%

And thing is, with these changes - spider auto-attack does the same damage as the jaguar's F2 burst skill. I'm sorry, but that IMO is just not right, a low dps pet's auto-attack should not be doing as much damage as a high dps's main burst skill.

#2194895 Frost and Flame Finale - Why a Dungeon?

wow, designing dungeons that worked for 3-7 players?  Sounds like it would have to be doable for 3 and not faceroll for 7.  I'm no game designer but that sounds like the sort of challenge that I've never seen solved in an MMO.  I mean, that would be pretty great and all, I'd be for it.  I just don't think that's even remotely feasible to pull off from a technical standpoint.

This doesn't rub me the wrong way at all tbh.  But then again I've made about 12-13 friends since launch that I run dungeons/fractals regularly with so I'm not worried about finding groups.  As for it being a longer dungeon, I guess some of us want that.  Should we be denied a longer, more demanding, experience that we find rewarding since others don't have the time?  No offense, but should I not get my legendary because some people will never spend enough time to get theirs?

There will always be plenty of things to do if you only have 30 mins to play.  You can't expect every bit of content in a game this large, that is intended to be played with others, to be doable solo in under 30 minutes.

I think OP is talking about the inconsistency. Up to this point, the "Living Story" has been completely solo-able. Now the finale to the "Living Story" is only possible in a long dungeon that requires group play. ANet did the same thing with the personal story. The whole story was able to be done solo but the last mission required the completion of a group dungeon.

#2074066 Ascended Items

There's a lot of crap I'll just shrug off, like the Arah event being bugged for weeks, the bots running rampant, the weird crafting economy where selling the item is worth less then selling the materials it took to make it, the slow response in fixing culling, the ridiculous exotic pre cursor prices that are inflated by gold buyers buying them and selling them on their sites.

But if this is turning into a WoW clone where we will have to keep getting the strongest items with every other content patch then I'm sorry but I'm out. That is something I never thought I'd say, but that's where my line is.
