#1851910 Permanently Banned

How about providing a quote from the EULA which describes that this is a perma bannable offense? Oh right, I bet you cant because you never read it, and cant even find the EULA anywhere that you can read it.

"You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars 2 and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars 2."

Rule 17 in the Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct. The document explicitly states;
"Please be aware that failure to comply with these rules of conduct may result in the termination of your Guild Wars 2 game account according to the Guild Wars 2 User Agreement"

The document may be viewed here; http://us.ncsoft.com...of-conduct.html

Your counter argument?

#1825999 Story Line quests are unbelievably hard.

Posted phani_kaushik on 27 August 2012 - 06:31 AM

Spoiler alert (as if most of them out there haven't done it already lol):

I'm playing a Sylvari and the quest where Malyck starts to gather his memory has been a bit tough for me and I got frustrated initially. I had to rezone to repair my armor and start over again with better strategy and managed to finish it after 3-4 times trying. There was this Nightmare court boss who doesn't matter in this quest anyway and 6-7 courtiers who just swarm at you on sight and kill you and Caithe as well. Malyck seems to be on juice lol. He only dies when the boss kills him. Just let Malyck join the fight with courtiers instead of just shooting at the boss (which is pointless as she doesn't need to die and won't for this quest to finish). Once Malyck joins the fight with courtiers, its piece of cake. Otherwise you'd be pwned in like 10secs with or without dodging lol.

We love you!

But we do feel the need to see other people.

This video sums up a good chunk of little aspects of Guild Wars 2 that make it different. ArenaNet did a fantastic job on it.

Lol, the Charr at 3:06.  Awesome.

I found it! At the very beginning of this video is the conversation between an Asura and a Sylvari  that cracked me up. I love the Asura's voice.

#1755700 Guesting not a "launch feature"?

How smooth do you think it will be when half of the players unwittingly end up on servers without their friends, and realize they can't get back there? That's what guesting was supposed to mitigate.
Assuming ANet doesn't ninja in the paid transfer system, this isn't an issue.

also check out deezer.com. (if it's available in your territory) it also has the song. when the song releases on amazon it will be available on deezer. you can listen to it for free in moderate quality.

To clarify: "Fear Not This Night" will be both on the Best of Guild Wars 2 Soundtrack, which is included on the Collector's Edition, and the Guild Wars 2 Original Soundtrack, available from DirectSong.

But when you're done with all that content in 2 weeks, because you can do anything you want at any time, what then?
You won't be done in two weeks in GW2, so what's the problem?

#1707134 Stress Test scheduled for August 10th!

Posted ksprs on 10 August 2012 - 05:04 PM

how is 12 to 4am or 1am to 5am not doable ? its friday night, you either partying at that time or sleeping, so if you can't miss one night out don't cry about not being able to play, if you want to sleep during the night instead of playing don't cry as well cuz you can sleep whole saturday. if you have to go to work on saturday or have other duties its your own personal problem. an average european, such as myself, will NOT have any problem playing from 12 to 4. can't wait :)

#1673639 Why Steal sucks. [Video]

Posted procabiak on 03 August 2012 - 06:49 PM

What I believe is wrong with Steal:

- Steal is tied to Shadow Step (limited attractiveness for stealing items/making Shadow Step more attractive)
- The stolen item is the same key as Steal
- Steal is just one skill, no other mechanic can steal items
- Perception that the stolen item is just a bonus, or useless, unreliable, unwanted (reality - stolen items can be extremely/situationally powerful if you know how and when to use it, or balanced at worst)

I've therefore mocked this up on photoshop. http://imgur.com/a/hwDSh Basically:

- Move the stolen item to another key (F2) fixes perception problem by giving time to read the skill description and prevent double tapping / writing off as a bonus
- Make weapons able to steal items (not trigger the "Steal" skill - thus not affected by Steal traits except the one that boosts stolen item damage)
- Introduce additional slots (F3/F4) for storing stolen items (subject to balance)
- Rebalance the items (reduce rates, enforce storage uniqueness or reduce item effectiveness) to acompany the additional slots

And we have a usable Steal, a mechanic that fits the definition of our profession, and Side effects:

- Also fixes sustainable damage issues with Initiatives. No Initiatives? Just do some damage/control/(self) support with the stolen items.
- Also fixes readability of Initiatives. Six by two is twelve, five by three is fifteen...
- Possibly introduce a new role/element: Surprise

#1648852 Are we Fanatical, or do we just have a few fanatics in the game?

Well, here's the thing. He's no different than the zealous fans he's speaking of who even in the face of the real potential problems defend it to no end.
What you say might be true in some respects. But In most cases, these so called "real potential" problems tend to be on the side of "Hey, my favorite game had it, this game should have it" and in most cases especially in those you are involved in, they tend to be on those line of thinking. The real potential problems are generally not problems with the system, they just come down to personal preference or a fear of change. Within the noise about these potential problems, the real ones tend to get drowned out.

Let's take you for example, if arenanet was to bring you in to design guild wars 2, based on your post history I would imagine: guild wars 2 = WoW-lore+tyria lore. To you that might fix, all these "potential" problems, but then they pretty much invalid the very existence of the game.

to conclude: potential "problems" are generally not problems, they are just personal preference pretending to be problems. The real problems i.e mechanics not working as intented tend to get drown out, by the noise generated by some minority or majority or whatever.
