This game is full of local/online co-op awesomeness
Perhaps describable as a "Gauntlet-esque" tomb raider game

I've only watched a single episode of Berserk, but it was quite intense and definitely peaked my interest. Many thanks for all the posts in this thread, really got me curious about some of the shows mentioned

They are both really good, but with the movies sticking so close to the original anime series, I have enjoyed Berserk: The Golden Age more perhaps because of the refreshing art style.

In the midst of playing other JRPG games such as Wild Arms, Suikoden, Final Fantasy 6, Breath of Fire III, for several early gaming years I found myself going back to Star Ocean: SS multiple times. I would pick up the game and play from the beginning up to the final boss where I would stop and not finish the game. I have yet to attempt to fight the final boss or finish the game completely.
Perhaps it was because of the branching storylines, in addition to the two alternate perspectives of the story.

can't figure out why anyone likes those games. makes me wonder if the people that loved chrono trigger have played any other JRPGs.

I was into JRPGs back in the day; however, when I played through Chrono Trigger I can't say I enjoyed it at all. Compared to other titles that were available around that time, the characters and story were a little too shallow in my opinion.
Legend of Grimrock is fun. I just do not like the excessive turning because it gives me a motion blur headache, so I cannot play it for very long.
