The old skin has a real cruddy low-resolution texture. My guess is that either a non-finalised model got through accidentally, which they have now replaced with the final one, or they ran out of time to finish all models before release and are now going through doing them up.
The new one just looks too clean - they could make it look more sword like with a bit of grunge on it.

The new skin looks soft. Almost cuddly. I wonder if it squeaks when you hit someone with it.

I like it, though I do miss some of the aspects like the superior story missions. I love all the references to the first game, I really think GW1 players will have a completely different experience than the general MMO players.

You've been able to play 40-50 hours in a week.. I'd call that a pretty successful launch.
Trading Post has been up 50% of the time for me in the last 3 days. When it is up, it works pretty well. Yeah it sucks that it was down the first 5 or so, but oh well, players found other ways to trade and got by just fine. Be happy that we have a GAME WIDE Trading post, not one locked to specific servers, or to even specific Auction Houses! (Vanilla WoW anyone?)
One quest for you that is stopping progression for your storyline is bugged, that's to be expected. Read their update from today, they're fixing those. Expect to find lots of bugs in the game for the first couple months, that's how they go
Account hacking? Your fault, that can happen anywhere to any game. Don't use the same password/user combination. Internet smarts 101.

Simply, you must not confuse Immobilize with Stun.
First is condition, and must be cleansed.
Second is counterable only withstun breakers.
If you use cond removal on stun, or stun break on immobilize, you won't achieve anything (and eat a 100b straight in your face): that's what he meant, i think.

I think you better rethink your perspective on unbifurcated garments. Skirts were standard on medieval armor, as it was the best known way of protecting the upper legs while still allowing freedom of movement. Also, they are and have been part of traditional male attire in many parts of the world. Sorry to have to shed light on your narrow-minded gender role notions.

that's actually because of the coloring, nothing to do with the actual detail on the armor.

Well I guess you consider that to be a problem where as I don't. As long as I have some loot progression that I can work toward and finish up for each character I'll be happy. I think we should keep in mind that not all the armor is made for everyone. All the designs are pretty different from each other, which means the devs are trying to cover as many bases as possible.
also OMFG have you seen the lvl 80 racial human medium armor? or the lvl 80 heavy charr armor or the lvl 80 asura light armor!!!
These three are some of the best looking armor sets that I've ever seen.

Well, for the record it is a light armor skin.... but yeah it disgusts me as well. The original one felt much better T_T

I thought armor looked fantastic. I found karma armor that was great and I found drops that I thought looked great too.
At least from the stuff I saw, it's simple yet elegant in most cases.

Well, I respect the fact that you can voice your opinion, but I flat out disagree. The gear looks so amazing it's making it hard to pick a main.

It's not useless for P/P because you can still use it to get away from your main target by switching to another in range.
