Might I suggest you use the search button instead of making a blog post next time?

#2113724 The "Endgame" is a myth

A fair point. However, suppose I go spend $30k on a car. Then suppose I break out the windows because I don't like the color of the tint, dismount the doors because I don't like the design of the latch, rip out the seats because the upholstery wasn't as plush as I wished, throw away the tires because the wheels aren't shiny enough, and smash the radio because I don't like the song that's playing. Am I entitled to complain that I didn't get $30k-worth of automobile and that the manufacturer owes me because I paid for it? I just don't think we can judge the game by the perspective of anyone who ignored 99% of the content and feels cheated because they didn't get $60-worth of their tightly-focused definition of fun.
I find your example rather unfair since a car is a physical object that can be physically dismantled like that. Also, in doing so, you did not use the car for its constructed purpose. i find a better analogy to be buying a car and then only be able to drive 5 miles with it before the bottom falls out and it turns out that they didn't screw it on properly. And that the exhaust pipe is made of plastic and has melted down. And then when you call up the car company and wonder why they sold you such a thing, they tell you that the car wasn't made to be driven, it was supposed to just stand there and look good. And then they ask you if you would like to buy some gems.

I am a very positive guru member, and I love GW2, and to me, those people that complain about the game, are just nuts, because they have the option to leave, but they don't, they are still here, and playing the game, that means only one thing, they like the game but they are enjoying being a troll. Period. I mean, if you don't like the game at all, why stay on the forums? Answer: To troll.
Noone complains about the "game". Complains are about how the game is managed by the company and how they ignore us. Resulting on a slow massleaving. Even geargrinder are just tired to repeat the  nth daily with 0 rings, quitting. No reason to troll a game when the same user was a full supporter, it's not a virus and every senior of us got sick. We just have eyes, we play the game, we found trash, we asked to their main forum a solution, we are ignored, receiving geargrind update, and RNG again too lol. If you think guru is a negative poolbath, you should spent a few minutes of the last remaining who didn't quit yet filling the official forum of complains still hoping someone is gonna listen us. Soon they will be tired too. A troll is an other mmo fanboy attempting to log here and spread poison until banned. Just so you understand the big difference between a troll and a disappointed customer. Speaking of which, clearly is most of us, expecially who bough the client not with daddy's money to receive this result as paid game.
Oh, if you're gonna answer " Well ask a refund" Anet received so many refund request they had to illegally "invent" (it's not public anywhere) a 6 months limit for a refund, seniors are a bit late for it. Just to add, (accordingly to Gaile Gray's posts) Anet monitor gw2 main fanbased forum like this one, reading what the community have to say, and what's wrong about the game, because they "care of community". /sarcasm on True, isn't it /sarcasm off

and thats all there is to it.
Except it isn't. You just want a walled garden where everyone is wearing rose-tinted glasses and no one ever has to worry about cognitive dissonance over their purchases. I was as passionate as anyone about the ideals. I am completely let down on the execution. GW2 is a WoW also-ran with some minor cosmetic differences. It's all smoke and mirrors, magic tricks, and flim-flammery. The dodge-roll even is a joke, since it doesn't help at all. Spatial awareness matters a hell of a lot more in CO even than GW2. It's just yet another WoW clone.

And whether you think it's poisonous or not doesn't matter. Somewhere, we should be allowed to say that we feel betrayed because we were promised something that wasn't a WoW clone. We should be allowed to say that we want MMOs to really evolve and leave the WoW model behind. We should be allowed to say that we feel that GW2 is stuck in the old ways. We should be allowed to point at GW2, just like we do at WoW, and say to others no, that, don't do that, never that.

#2112582 The Culling

Posted matsif on 09 December 2012 - 06:15 AM

coming from eve nullsec battles, the problem with WvW isn't that bad.  in eve large alliances had to announce attacks to the devs so that they could reinforce the server node to support 1000+ players, and even then you were lucky to get a shot off (back when I stopped playing).  honestly I'd rather see more enemies than allies anyways.

that said I rarely go into WvW anymore as its boring.  the whole mode needs more of an overhaul than culling players on your screen before it becomes worthwhile imo.  small group supply camp capping isn't fun when you turn around 5 minutes later than there is a zerg there recapping it, not to mention how the entire culling issue is based around zerging being the only viable tactic to take a keep in any reasonable amount of time.

#2112631 To the people that complain about the new gear grind and why I prefer this...

Simply put, Gear-Grind adds a much higher sense of accomplishment once you reach something than getting something that 'looks better'. IF I wanted that I wouldn't play MMORPG's, I'd play something like Sims. At first I thought It would've been awesome but hey it wasn't. Thats why I quit this game and wanted a refund ( But I was too late to... I only played this game for like two weeks btw ). Now that I come back I see this and people complaining. This is one of the best things to happen.

The thing is non-gear grind is NEARLY impossible. The only thing that replaces it is ranking and that is IMPOSSIBLE to create in a MMORPG for PvE.

Always good to meet a generic MMO sheep.

Simply put, do not forget to add "in my opinion".

I don't really understand why they are making huge one-time events all the time instead of fixing the basics in the game first? Honestly they released the game far too early, I'm afraid they will scare off most of the PvP community before they save it

what is this dumb thing....

"Reference religious or historical figures."

Every name in early medieval world is historical and religious! I always roll with unique names of the norn gods, and norn rare names from the past. How can we roll a Norn race char without a norn name like Hugleik?

Hell, i have an old norse god as name on this forum, and as account name in GW2 main.

How can norn names be abusive?

If we shall accept the terms, no one can name their char as Markus, Frey, Odin, Thor, carolus, carl, lex, alex, vincent, and so on. Every name in modern life has a religious and historical past on it.

Our Icelandic friends can't name their chars at all because of that all the names is in old norse language.

I have a feeling this is ONLY in place to prevent butthurt religious people when they see "jesus on a stick" run past their screen.

The only way it will work is if the "free" transfers are attached to the account, not the launch of the game.

Not everyone shares your sentiment.

Yes Lethality, everyone is aware by now that you prefer focusing on the tiniest negatives under the banner of pointing out areas of opportunity.

#1754891 So what is the competetive part of GW2 PvE?

Competitive PvE always seems like an oxymoron to me.  /shrug

The PvE of gw2 isn't meant to be competetive, it's meant to be cooperative.

#1742261 Servers getting full with many guilds on them.

Your solution is to not take advantage of cross server guilds and guesting

At that rate, we should just drop overflow servers entirely and go back with the old fashion queue times, at least that didn't separate you from your friends and guild.

No, my solution is to stop taking new things that were added to make your gaming experience better and making it seem like ANet owes you something by tailoring the release to your expectations because you can't plan ahead

As a general rule, new release population issues thin out by the end of the first week and all but disappear by the end of the second. Again, I say you should be planning on a server that doesn't have a ton of guilds already claiming it. After seeing some of your other posts it's apparent you'll be on Crystal Desert along with a large chunk of people. CD has been 'claimed' for some time and you still have a week to pick another, less populated server

If you or your friends can't get in it's your own bloody fault.

[Edit] Your avatar seems perfect for you, by the way, since all you seem to be doing is crying
