Shininess differences in armor

Doing some mixing and matching today on various armors, I noticed quite a bit of different levels of shininess in the metal parts in various armor sets. This might not be news to some, but many armor sets, especially the Norn cultural heavy armors in this case, have a lot shinier metal parts than some other sets (HoM heritage armor etc.). This makes the colors look different on different parts as some of them are duller.

Are there any comprehensive lists on which sets go well together with each other in the level of shininess or is this something to just try out by ourselves?

Here's a few examples of Norn shoulders (shiny) and Heritage gauntlets (dull) dyed in the same color:

While exploring Brisban Wildlands, I found the toxic swamp area in the south-western corner, which turned out to be the destroyed Henge of Denravi, as others might have found out on the beta weekends already. But what I didn't see discussion about was the strange energy vortex a bit to the west from the main Henge area (the extreme south-west corner of the map)

Within that part of the zone there were Sparks flying around, and cows and other animals teleporting around with that huge energy ball/vortex looming by the wall. I didn't notice any other DE's in that swamp beyond the Priory's escort mission where they try to rejuvenate the main Henge fountain. Did I miss some DE that might have given explanation to this phenomenon?
