#2105921 Where has everyone gone?

Posted megamacka on 03 December 2012 - 03:56 PM

My problem with the game is that it feels like a gigantic zerg fest. ESPECIALLY the events.
There isn't really any real teamwork ( kind made even further obvious by no real roles ). It's sad really, because I really want to like the game. And here I am, every day trying to find a reason to actually go back and play the game but I can't. I just feel no drive to log back on. /sad face

Caudecus needs slightly higher ceilings in his mansion's basement.

#2040908 Anet releasing MOBA type gameplay within GW2?

I'd also love to see a "hero servival" type game mode as well.
You know the kind where a small group of players defends a position against waves of enemies, with occasional boss waves, for as many waves as they can. The goal isn't necessarily to win, it's to see how long you can go on for.

Spoken like a true scrub who doesn't understand that raw numbers is the only thing that matters after a certain point. When you field more than both other team combined it doesn't matter how crap your fairweather players are. The fact you don't realise this shows how little you understand about WvW.

Trying to insult me instead of answering the question certainly demonstrates your knowledge of WvW.

Yes - this gets to the heart of the matter every time some random has posted on this issue of supposed "stacking" by the TA guilds. Not only do they apparently confuse "TA" with every other guild in the game, not a single one can answer the question "how many players comprised the TA guilds that transferred to Blackgate".

It doesn't matter who it is... Hexenn, Charlie, Randall or anyone else - this question has never been answered,. because they litterally don't know. All they see is a bunch of guild names and make assumptions.

We are down to about 15 players left at this point. Our Australian allies that came with us have been similarly decimated with attrition. Collectively we can't even fill 3/4 of a single map.

But most of all - if we wanted to stack and get no competition in our timezone, why didn't we just transfer to a server where there are already plenty of players in our timezone? - like Jade Quarry... or Stormbluff... or Isle of Janthir... or Sea of Sorrows...

Instead, we went to a server that had virtually no presence in our timezone, that had been asking for help for weeks courtesy of one of the most reasonable guys on this cesspit of a forum in Laylyn.

If you believe we are transferring to avoid competition, you are a retard.

#2025976 Current State of the Game. Fun? Population? Will you continue to play?

Posted thartalion on 17 October 2012 - 07:54 PM

This game is perfect for me. When GW2 came out, i was still playing WoW (since day 1 btw). I was in a big lv25 guild, lots of people online, good raiding, etc. I said to them : "hey, just gonna try this new game called GW2. I'll keep my WoW account active since the other game has no monthly fees.".

I never logged back on WoW since. Even cancelled my subscription. Sorry pandas.

I like GW2 better. Me and my wife (who wasn't interested in mmo's before) both play on the same account. I have a lv80 guardian and lv52 warrior. I really like collecting armor/weapon skins and dyes, playing with different professions, completing maps and gathering gear for my wife's level 30 toons. Never tried dungeons or PvP yet, but will do soon. I don't feel rushed to grind them endlessly (and mindlessly) for better gear. I'll play them for fun with some guildies when i have some spare time.

I really find it weird to read all the posts about "are you still having fun with this game". People get bored so fast these days lol... Of course, GW2 needs some improvements, but i like this world better. I like the crazy graphics, how my characters look, the animations, the traits system, the skills, etc. I know there will be patches, fixes and updates, just like there was in WoW.

If you feel bored already, maybe you need to take a break from mmo's in general (since i heard the same complaints from almost all the other mmo's that came out in the last few years) ;)

P.S.: I read somewhere people complaining that ANet stole Blizzard's idea with the upcoming Halloween event. Blizzard didn't create Halloween. They didn't create X-mas either, so get ready for an upcoming winter festival. Just my 2-cents.

#2019342 How do you feel about WvW at this stage of the game.

Posted Al Shamari on 14 October 2012 - 10:41 PM

1) Commander icons need to be bought with Badges of Honor, not gold. There needs to be leadership, I agree, but it should not be bought with gold. it should be earned. I'm going to listen to someone who has titles over someone with a commander icon any day and I think many would agree. Those who have the icons would have theirs placed on hold, have their gold refunded and they can redeem their icon if and when they get the required number of badges. Also, commanders should have their own special text? I feel like that would allow people to see their specific instructions on the map chat much easier and possibly give them a little more command over the game.

2) A co-payer system needs to be introduced. Siege equipment can be terribly expensive at time, and not everyone has the gold to dish out on such things. There should be a co-payer system that allows one person to 'pitch in' a said amount of gold to the price of a piece of siege equipment, or other things. Then, that siege item would appear at the top of all lists and say something to the degree as "This item has been partially paid for..." and others could offer to complete the payment or pitch in more. This would enable more team organized play, allowing an entire team to pitch in for the siege gear needed to take down keeps.

Other than that, the other ideas have already been listed several times. Fix the hacking, glitch and clipping issues, larger map sizes would help but I don't see that changing.

The game is already getting stale. WvW is the same thing over and over again. There is no end content. You get to level 80, get exotic gear, kill hundreds of people in WvW, games over.

#1888676 What do you NOT like about GW2?

Posted StormDragonZ on 06 September 2012 - 04:36 AM

There's only one thing I don't like about GW2.

- The players who think they know everything about it already.
