AoE confusion application in WvWvW zergs is kind of OP.  In major skirmishes, whoever's shattering Confusion onto people is probably going to win (largely because the UI is very bad at display confusion).
Then the UI should be made better. This change only cater zerg noobs and new players while crippling an entire build line of the Mesmer. At the same Theives are getting reverted. That shows VERY well what the devs want - new players ganking stuff with theives so that they get "into" the game, while reducing the strength of things that can stop zergs.

Skilled players already know how to deal with confusion. Its called condition removal or backing off for a couple of secs. Confusion by a Mesmer isnt even the worst kind, because its the ONLY condition they have that is viable. Go up and an Engineer and get trolled with trying to remove 5+ confusion stacks among 5+ different conditions instead.

In PvE and even sPvP, I can see Confusion staying where it's at.  Not necessarily WvWvW though.
Duh, that's because *no one* use confusion specs in PvP and its ass in PvE due to slow attacks.

Unless Shatters are under the 5 AoE target limit.  I've never gotten that impression.
They are.

All in all, the change is for example like doing a blanket nerf of 50% damage on Guardian burning. Unacceptable.

So basicly they are saying that WvW skills need to be more balanced like PvP and proceed to say that the Theif change will revert to PvE stats, but Mesmer will get GIMPED by confusion damage set to PvP stats.

They are contradicting themselves. I guess the devs started playing theives and realized how weak their stealth is in WvW.

Oh wait...

-all-round char for PvE, WvW, fractals and dungs
You can shorten your list since this is pretty much all that matters - most if not all  classes can do everything else listed. None of them are nerfproof. So in short, you can remove the Ranger from the list (its ass in dungeons and the pet break critical boss mechanics) and the Thief as well as its borderline useless in a dungeon. Necros and Engineers are questionable. Not useless and nothing that break dungeons (except necro automatic pets when specced), but not really that good either. These classes has a tendancy to conflict with conditions as well. Elementalists does have some use and are flexible, but nothing that a Guardian cant replace and do better in a dungeon. The good allround chars is Warrior, Guardian and Mesmer. All three are great in WvW and PvE, desirable in fractals and dungeons.

If we get that out of the way, its really just a simple question: Do you like steel or magic or a combo of both? If its steel, Warrior. If its magic, Mesmer. If its a combo of both, Guardian.

Or you can just pick a thief and troll people with perma-stealth in WvW all day long, whatever.

That would be true if you ONLY loaded stuff from your SSD, but since the game is online that is not the case.
I could have the fastest computer in the world but the game would still take quite some time to load if I had crap internet.
Incorrect. Much of the "online" stuff of LA is loaded *after* you have actually loaded and entered the zone. How can you tell? Simple... culling. The static items are completely loaded of the HDD, the map, character looks, animations, effects, sound, etc. What's "downloaded" is most notably positions/actions of players and NPCs (and a million other things which still pale in size compared to the visual library that's on your HDD).

With multithreading, I am guessing that GW2 loads this at the same time - loading art is probably what takes the longest, updating character positions is nothing since GW2 does it constantly (obviously, you can play it after all ;)).
