Weird screen glitch?

09 October 2012 - 09:40 PM

So I just got a new GPU & Headsink for my CPU.

CPU heat sink: Cooler master 212 hyper EVO.

I got everything hooked up and decided set my graphics to "Auto detect", which set it to Max settings on everything.. It looks great and I got 60-63 FPS with Vsync.

So I started walking and then boom.... My screen went crazy.

My GPU is not overclocked my me. My CPU is overclocked at 4.33. This seems to only happen on max settings and its only doing it in certain camera angles.

Anyone ever seen this is or have an idea what it is? lol

New GPU & CPU - They seem "hot"

04 October 2012 - 09:51 AM

So for years I've been using an AMD system, till I recently re-vamped my desktop into an Intel build.

I bought:

Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core

EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

So... Got everything hooked up, open GW2 and everything seems to be pretty good.
Around 60-75 FPS in LA with max settings and nothing blew up.
I felt a lot of heat coming from my top fan closest to the CPU, only while playing GW2. The CPU load seems to be fine except my 4th core, its load is in the 90% while everything else is in the 30-40%. The GPU also seems to be very very hot from the back but its temp is "normal" from what EVGA's community forums say. I guess I'm use to my AMD GPU where most of the heat isn't all coming out from the back like the 670.

Just a few questions, Whats a "normal" temp of my CPU while gaming?
"Normal" temp of a 670 FTW while gaming on it?
Also, how much watt should my power supply be with a 670 FTW?
Also, why is only one core in my CPU taking all of the work, while my other cores just sit back.

Sorry kind of new to all of this. ^_^

I can post pictures of everything in a few hours, currently at work. :(

[GPU] GTX 670 FTW or GTX 660 Ti?

29 August 2012 - 05:31 AM

So I want to upgrade my graphics card...

I'm currently on the fence, about buying a GTX 670 FTW or a GTX 660 Ti.

GTX 670: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130787

GTX 660 Ti: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130812

I want to save money, but I don't want to sacrifice power just to be cheap.

So what card should I look into getting? :)

Should I upgrade to a new GPU?

14 August 2012 - 12:54 PM

So here is what I'm running right now..

CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz Quad Core. (OC to 4.0)
GPU:  AMD HD Radeon 6870 1gb.
RAM: 12 GB G.Skill.

So I was thinking maybe I should upgrade my GPU to the newer 7950..

Right now in Heart of the mist, I get around 60-95 FPS.
While I was in the Asura starting area, I'm only getting around 20-35 FPS.

So I was wondering if getting the new AMD Radeon 7950 3GB GPU would even make a noticed change in my FPS while in bigger areas like Lions Arch.

New GPU I want: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150588

Thanks :D
