Plan your fights.
Simply don't use your Phatasm at the moment the enemy is upon you. Use it while they are getting close. And use clones to distract them.

However this should not be an excuse for unintended delay.
Regardless of how  useful or useless it might be in a certain situation, the delay in not an intended functionality and therefore a bug.

But they have already stated that are aware of this issue and are working on a fix, so that is OK with me.

A very well written post :)

The event was pretty good, the only problem I had with the event itself is the tuning of some parts of the event that made the event significatly longer (Reinforcements parts specifically). But they made up for it when we had to plant explosives, put boulders in the geysers and detonate those gas bombs. The rewards were quite satisfactory as well. I sympathize with those players that dc-ed during the event and were not able to login but fortunately Anet has announced that they will receive their rewards as soon as they implement a fix.

However I think they have to realise that they have a much bigger problems with the game than the bugs they are constantly patching. Although there is nothing wrong with doing that, I think they should prioritise and put more efforts in the core systems of the game to prevent issues with culling (which has been severly damaging experience in WvW and now also in PvE/massive events) and severe lag however exclusive those things are.

In Topic: I'm really getting sick of the lack of love for the necromancer class

My necro is my main and it is more than enjoyable to play it. Let me just list a few quick examples of things I personally do with the necro:
First of all I prefer scepter/warhorn set with staff on the other set, since I love to mess with conditions and actually have patience to slowly stack them up and then just laugh off when foes are slowly dying.
In PvE, my utility skills are mostly minions, because it is nice to have extra damage from 4 minions in addition to my condition damage. Huge group of mobs? No problem, switch to staff, use the wells, switch to scepter again, spam some conditions, use Epidemic and bang, watch the numbers fly when you spead those conditions on every mob in one hit.

If I go PvP or WvW, I only respec my utility skills for more condition mess. Defending a tower in WvW? No problem, stand behide the gates and spam staff skills to aoe the gates and give those rams a hard time. Fighting against a condition based build? Man, you should be happy here, use plague signet to transfer them on your foe, then use corrupt boon to transform all of your foe's boons into conditions and watch his enthusiasm to keep spamming conditions on you. Those skills on cooldown? Cool, use consume conditions to heal for 5k + 750 health for each condition on you (also removes them). Against heavy damage build? Use that utility skill that grants retaliation and see your enemy kill himself.
Dropping low with everything on cooldown? Pop your death shroud to survive a couple of seconds longer for cooldowns to come off, switch to staff to pop those fear and chill marks, switch back to x/warhorn, skill 5 and you have swiftness to run away.

While I do agree that the damage output is not necessarily that high, you get more in case of survivability. Though you need to keep changing your trait accordingly.
But imo, its is versatile and balanced enough to easily 1v1 someone whatever build they are running, with decent amount of damage and support skills fit for different situations.

Though I would have to say that I almost never use elites because franky, I dont find them that good or maybe I just don't have time to pop those with so much stuff going on lol.

Happens to me as well. But it gets automatically fixed when a mob attacks me.

Having said that:

This sounds troubling. Not because they are letting folks back in, but because they don't seem to have a (sufficient) system in place that would allow them to remove unwanted stuff out of the game WITHOUT having to rely on players themselves to do it.

Have you thought of a possibility where Anet intentionally wants the players to delete stuff themselves to give them sort of a lesson to learn and to convince them not to exploit the game any more? Maybe they think it will have a better impact on this matter than simply deleting stuff themselves.
I just find it hard to believe that no such system would be put in place, but it is a problem if it is true.
