Because you play the game in a repetitive way.
Did you discover the hidden Drake race yet?
Did you get youself a chocobo?
Did you smell the breath of a Wurm?
Or again, did you go fully invisible on a Guardian?
You new generations are getting 100x higher quality games and can't appreciate anything of them.
You just get in, do repetitive tasks (even in a game that rewards variation and has very little repetition), and then come here and complain the game sucks.
Try turning off the tunnel vision on that exp bar and enjoy Tyria.
