With WoW, you'd pop into your big group of buddies (10 or 25), and take hours out of your day with all these people and progress through a massive dungeon. Farming 30 minute dungeons isn't really that "epic".
I know that's something I've come to find. Even though I really didn't care for the holy trinity and how mind numbingly easy certain boss fights were, I do miss having TONS of people in a group all chatting about random stuff and having a good time - but not just for 30 minutes, but through an entire progression of a massively huge dungeon that could take hours upon hours.
GW2 is GW2 and WoW is WoW, I wouldn't want them to bleed into each other, I just miss that progression with a huge group of people.
The thing with GW2 is, not only are dungeons short and do they require small teams, you also can't fail most of them. Same for storylines, you just start again from waypoint and any number of wipes doesn't matter, there's no Death Penalty in the end you'll make it. Even killing Zhaitain is close to peanuts. That you finished - most - dungeons basically doesn't mean anything at all because almost everyone can do it. No need to every try again or learn from your mistakes.
Compared to FoW or UW where a run could take hours and where you got kicked out when you had a wipe, this is far from "epic", it's almost too easy and meaningless.

i'm not going to find the quote but it's out there.
Not true at all. All your characters work towards the SAME daily/monthly and they share their progress (i.e., you can do 3 events on one character than swap to do the last two, etc.) You can talk about whatever quotes you like but anyone who has more than one character will know from direct experience that what you're saying isn't true.

A very intuitive individual suggested that A-Net is purposely slowing down overall earning to keep power-players from getting too rich or too far ahead.
I have a hunch that they'll making things cheaper eventually but to make things this ridiculous this early in the game actually provides me a sense of comfort. I feel like I don't have to invest a bunch of time to be competitive and take advantage of the game's early weeks/months, despite others trying so hard.
I'm personally earning more by leveling new characters- and the upside is that I'm avoiding the 80 grind entirely. (Also, I'm re-earning the mats necessary for crafting that I would otherwise have to spend a fortune to receive on the overpriced TP.)

Now that it has shown up that there is actual grind, there are people actually supporting it?! Don't you guys think on those who can't play as much as you to amass 300k karma for one max stats set??? omg....

Mmorpgs take time. That's why I love them. Exotic armor should be....EXOTIC. It's supposed to be hard to obtain.
This argument is completely invalid because one of the selling points of the game was 0 GRIND
