The best part was the chance to finally kill Trahearne.

In Topic: What do GW1 players think of GW2?

I have enjoyed playing GW2.  Don't agree with where it looks like this game is heading but we'll see.  Where I really think they messed up was in completely trashing the lore of GW1 and starting from almost scratch.  They completely failed to capture the atmosphere, epicness of the story in GW. The Personal Storylines could have been written by a 5th grader. And they stick in items and names from GW1 which show that they have no ties with the original writers and no respect for the game's history.  Ectos which could only be obtained from ghostly, undead enemies in the Underworld, now you can salvage weapons and armor for them? Zodiak weapons which were only from elite dungeons tied in with Asian astrology, now looking like carnival prizes that you get through RNG.

was going through my travel bag today and found my design notepad full of GW2 dungeon designs. There was a pang of regret in thinking about things, but the spark and desire is still there to keep designing and building. When I get back from this vacation with the family (Oregon coast), I'll be eager to find somewhere willing to pay me to do it. I'm glad this experience hasn't broken my desire for it - I love it, and I can't wait to get back into it. the encouragement from my friends has been very appreciated throughout this entire thing.

Well I for one did enjoy his work.

Thanks! Altho there are so many posts by him in the forums, I just gave up going through it to try to see if I could find out all the things he designed.

How do people know who designed what?  Is it all rumor or inside information?  I do know that a lot of people do like the revamped AC, which no question he designed.

The bottom line for me is that he was the only one who showed any concern and interest in dungeons or in making any permanent content. I really enjoy the dungeons even as they stand now but very few people now do them regularly, mostly an elite cohort that tends to kick out any inexperienced players- because they need a complete overhaul.  Now who is going to work on dungeons?  Open up the Crystal Desert and other new zones? No one that I can see. Regardless of whether he was a great developer or not, at least he communicated, took in feedback and was very open in what he wanted to do with these areas.
