On Sunday the 3rd of February, DVDF will be organising a strike force to liberate the Temple of Balthazar on Gandara. With guesting being implemented in the January patch, we’d love to encourage our non-Gandaran friends join the fight, kill some Risen, and maybe meet some new friends too! If you’re the silent and deadly type, that’s cool – just stab/shoot/fireball the undead until they die and then rush the vendor (who sells Obsidian Shards and Power/Vit/Toughness karma armour)!
We’ll be starting around 4PM (GMT/UK time) and will be announcing in Lion’s Arch, as well as bumping this thread as the time approaches.
[Edit] This should be the Sunday the "3rd" of feb, but can't edit the title.

[Gandara] Sun 2nd Feb: Temple of Balthazar clear
24 January 2013 - 01:17 PM
Temple of Balthazar clear: Gandara 23rd of Nov.
20 December 2012 - 10:49 AM
It's that time of the Month again! For those Gandarans needing access to the Temple of Balthazar vendor (who sells Obsidian Shards and Power/Vit/Toughness karma armour!), I'm looking to organise a large group of people to complete all the event chains to liberate the temple from the evil Risen.
I'll be starting around 4PM UK time, and will be announcing it both in game (Lion's Arch) and bumping this thread, as the time approaches.

Grey's Art Commissions
01 October 2012 - 01:05 PM

Hi, my name's Grey, and I do Guild Wars 2 art commissions! If you need to send me mail, use "Grey.7319".
This thread contains a few examples of my work, but if you would like to see more of my art, please check my Official Forum Thread, GW2 Guru Art Thread or DeviantArt. Please use those threads to discuss my art, and this one to discuss/request commissions. You might also want to check my previous GW1 Art Thread and Commissions Thread
If you like the look of my art and would be interested in a drawing/digital painting of one of your Guild Wars 2 characters, please read on.
Interested? Show me your character!
I will need the following for any commission to be considered:
• Screenshot (an additional close-up screenshot of the face is also helpful)
• Character Name (important, so that I can contact you in-game)
• Character Profession (not always evident from screenshots)

• Character's age
• Favourite weapons/armour (I can draw you with any gear you like, you don't need to own it!)
• Favourite pet (especially important for rangers)
• Favourite in-game locations
• Any other role-play information you can think of
How I choose commissions:
As I only have a limited amount of time to spend on commission, I expect there will more requests than I can sensibly fulfil. Consequently, I will need a selection process.

If I decide that I would like to work on your character's commission, I will try to contact you in game to discuss it further. We can discuss potential gear choices (if different to the screenshot), poses, locations, mood etc. If I can't get hold of you in-game (perhaps because of different time-zones) I'll message you via PM. Once we've agreed on a general direction for the art, I'll let you know the cost, and and an estimate on how long it will take.
Pricing:
GW2's economy is still young and the value of gold is still finding a balance. My initial prices are shown below. I've tried to make these open to as many people as possible, but I need to find a balance between making them affordable and making them worth my time.

• 5g: Rough sketch / portrait
• 10g: Detailed sketch/Simple painting (quick shading, no background)
• 15g: Full Character Painting (simple background)
• 20g: Full Paint + Background
Payment:
Before I begin work on paid commissions, I will send you an in-game mail requesting half of the total gold fee. I'm aware that this requires a certain degree of trust on behalf of the commissioner, but I hope that my previous commissions and reputation will show me as trustworthy. Once the payment is received, I will get to work on the image. Once complete, I will post a low resolution (watermarked) preview of the piece, and request the remaining payment via mail. Once final payment is received, I will provide the full resolution image.
Extras:
In addition to the image itself, I'm happy to discuss extras and special requests. These might include:
• Forum Avatars + Signatures
If people would like their finished image converted into a forum avatar or sig, I can do that free of charge. All you need to do is tell me you want one, and provide the image dimensions (Usually no larger than 100x100 for an avatar, and around 300x100 for a sig), and any text you would like (character name, guild name etc).
• Extras/Special Requests:
Text and general messages you want displayed in the picture will be free of charge, just tell me what you want and where you want it, and I’ll stick it in. I'll try my best to accomodate other special requests and discuss pricing where appropriate. In general, I'll be more than happy to talk to people about what they want from a picture, and if anything is unclear with my pricing guides, or if you want something that doesn't fall into these categories, I'll try my best to sort it out.
PvP Mystic Forge Recipes
27 August 2012 - 12:52 AM
Primer on the Mystic Forge:
If you're new to the Mystic Forge, check out Ratboy's general "How To" on PvP crafting.
http://www.guildwars...fting-pvp-gear/
To sum up the process breifly: to create an item you need an item token (available from a glory vendor), a rank token (Rabbit, Deer, etc.), an arcane token (crystal, orb, sliver, etc.) and some arcane powder. The combination of rank token and arcane token ultimately determines the look of the item, while the item token determins the type (weapon, light armor, heavy armor etc). Consumable recipes follow different and varied rules, as indicated in the recipe list.
The Recipes
When posting your recipes, please list the following information
Examples (please include Token, Orb/Crystal/Sliver and Armor Weight):
It appears recipes have a small chance to "crit" and create a different, rarer, skin. Orbs and crystals craft items one rarity up. Slivers seem to have unique "crit craft" skins for each tier. Our understanding of how this crit chance works is still limited, so I am only posting recipes for which players (or my own tests) have found in-game. Names listed in orange, indicate these "crit" results.
Results in green are from data collected during BWEs. These have been cross-referenced using multiple sources, and initial tests at lower ranks suggest they are unchanged. However, actual results from live, especially at the higher ranks where data was patchy, would be appreciated.
